How on earth can he fumble and get lost in his thoughts during short speeches, yet he appeared to be firing right on target tonight?

I just got home from fencing. Missed it. ABC News was playing "best moments" of PAST State of the Unions by the time I tuned in. WTH?
 
Its not a state of the union speech its a political speech of "look all the good I've done"
and the last quote I heard was I'll ban "assault weapon ban and large capacity magazine's"

I caught a few bits on CSPAN, but only about 20 total minutes. He was coherent and vibrant and, to my mind pretty powerful in his speech. Mostly, as Franc pointed it, it was a campaign speech. I also caught the part where he said he wanted to fix the border, send him he border bill . . . but obviously didn't mention what was in the Senate bill, which would not have fixed anything. So there was a lot of platitudes and promise but no real substance.

She is young and pretty so the GOP picked her but somehow I don't see her identifying with any urban women, maybe some suburban women, but seems like she is the homespun choice of rural residents.

We need strong people in the party. We need strong women representing the party.
It seemed to me she was about to cry throughout her speech.
Which hardly fit the definition of a "rebuttal."
Can anyone recall what she said?

I thought the GOP wanted to win in November 2024.
My question is this...; Why wasn't Kristi Noem giving that rebuttal speech?

State of the union address is just an excuse for politicians to waste more money patting themselves on the back to insert hot air into their balloons so they can keep their jobs until the next election.

I say the same thing about Canadian politicians. Trudeau flew in on his private jet this week to announce 20mil in housing for the city. I wouldn't walk across the street to waste time listening to him.
