1974 Cushman Trackster

Just need cold and snow. We got a major reset all the way to Canada with this weather. Ski areas got hurt and the snowmobiling is in a small triangle.

Sucks.

Runs and drives good!

I did the Polaris engine swap, it fit under the hood and just had to bend steering rods little bit. I would use the 500, the 425 had just enough power to go full speed.and the Polaris engine will spin a lot higher rpm then Briggs conversion so you don't loose any speed

Thinking of moving my trackster along. The two stroke is too loud and needs to many rpms to go the way I like it?

How is the sound and power level on the 4 stroke conversion? Might just be trading this for a tucker!!

Addict, do you have any experience with the Trackster drive unit.. hydrostatic mess of a transaxle?

I got a broke one, no clue whats broke. But i bet its the "typical thing that breaks in these when you do dumb shit" Any idea what that typical thing that breaks may be? lol

Thanks!

oh just putting it out there, i gotta {industrial} CNC lathe in my garage. if anyone needs something weird made. I'm glad to help!

I have my eyes on a BMW R65s engine as a possible transplant for my Trackster. Any thoughts of talking me out of it are welcome. McCall 2017

The one I had was a converted by previous owner.

I've never driven the one with the original engine, but even with that 4stroke - its pretty much granny mobil, guy that bought it from me was using crotches and as he said he was in no hurry to get around his "flat" property. I told him its no 4wheeler/quad type of a rig, but seems like it should deal with bad terrain pretty easily.

In all the honestly, I dont see how it could ever carry 4 people and possibly tow a light trailer.

I put 4 adults in mind on feet of blizzard snow. It went but not fast.

I would have kept I'd it were quiet at the Rpms needed to make it move. After reading up on the 4 stroke conversion it appeared I still wouldn't have been happy so I moved on.

Still was a fun toy .
