When I was in high school my dad had a car lot, I thrashed them all, one was an Amx with the 390 and 4 speed. Always wanted one since. One of my favorite cars that I never owned. There was a guy in my town with an orange one when I had my GM rides. There also was an old retired guy with a blue Rebel that i worked on. It was a pretty cool car too.
There must be an AMX forum out there with people selling good parts, maybe nos parts.
You must be referring to the AMX super stock cars made to compete with the dodge hemi carsAMC sponsored some of those back in 1968. I was running a big block Camaro and those factory sponsored cars were badass. That will make a good resurrection project. Good luck!!!!!
One of those sold here near me. If I remember the story correctly it was called the sheriff of Nottingham, or something like that.AMC sponsored some of those back in 1968. I have them in my old 72 T/A car. Made a huge difference in ride and lack of noise. I had no idea of how much noise steel leaf spring make. I added them when I went to 4 wheel disc brakes.Got it.
Take a look at the carbon leaf springs for the car. Nicer ride than 4 link with coil overs.
Yes that is a cool twist on a spring set up, I like the idea of more stock appearing and simple. I guess it’s the next generation from what I use to. I’m sure the design was born from some class rules where you have to use a leaf spring suspension and someone made it work. No! Look at the carbon leafs with sliders!
Many many drag racers are switching over.
I'm talking cars with 1500 hp or more.
Dig in dude. Times are a changing!
A couple from a quick search...
