Another one in the memory bank!

Thanks to our hosts for sharing their backyard with us. Great gathering of Original Old Grousers, new friends, and the next generation coming up.

Here’s a picture to remind the group where this most recent amazing event all started from.

ForumsForums and the Cat’s Meow at Timberline Lodge. The forums is an invaluable source of info and the glue that formed the bond of this group.

If you have a cat, make a thread, and please share with us what you’re working on or fun your having.Multiple threads for multiple projects welcome!

PS: If you need a class on posting message me.

Speaking of "having your back", I was HUGELY impressed with the Davis Translight team that came to a Serenade for the first time. Yes, they brought an epically spectacular machine that looked incredible, and ran every bit as good as it looked, and a second Tucker sporting an unusual track setup (that I understand is next in line for some further upgrades, along with yet a third machine!), but what really impressed me was not so much the beautiful hardware as the people; Kevin and his two sons, Kody and Austin.

I’ve got a long bed, crew cab pickup and a long, bumper-pull trailer. When pulling into one of the parking areas at the hotel I got much too close to a large rock. It bent one of the trailer wheels in a big way, that of course popped the tire bead. I parked the truck and trailer and prepared to install the spare tire. But literally as soon as I had parked, Team Davis backed up their service truck and broke out an air-over-hydraulic jack to lift the trailer. Kody and Austin worked like a Swiss watch in coordinating their actions. Kevin and snowcat buddy Scott used a 6 pound double jack hammer to beat the deformed wheel into its original form, and then the tire was aired up. I think everything; from changing the tire to straightening the wheel and re-inflating the tire took maybe10 minutes. Maybe.

Two years ago in California I was hugely impressed with Ken and Nancy Talley’s son Charlie, a US Marine at home on leave, and this time it was Kody and Austin Davis. Really, REALLY nice guys who jumped into action instantly, and acted so generously and selflessly.

Our snowcat community has some wonderful folks, and the Davis family has established themselves as being world-class members of the group.

I need to add that Mrs. BFT was similarly impressed with Adriana, Austin’s girlfriend. Beautiful, smart as a whip, and hugely talented. Wow!

Everybody loves pics. Here’s the wheel after Scott and Team Davis were done with it. (Nice to have a fully functional spare tire for the 700+ mile trip home.)

Actually Track Addict, all this cat crazy stuff started in Leavenworth Washington, when two lost star stuck snow cats met for the first time, and the legend of the blue coat was born...

There’s a couple in here I can’t take the credit for. My good friend John Laptad took them on Thursday.

How about that weather! We really scored. Although winter is back as of today and new snow is heading our way.

I know some of the videos are too long but hopefully some will make it in here. Special thanks to Gordon for driving my crab walking cat down so I could take a run on my board. Best run all season! Also thanks to team Davis for taking me up higher so I could board down again. It’s not often I get to do it because I’m usually the driver. Pretty impressed with their snowmobile tracked machine. And since Nick has “staged” my house for sale with his cat, I’ve had two offers on it. But they both want the cat included. Lol!!
