My daughter is a Type 1 diabetic.
My doctor told me, about 18 months ago, I was 'pre-diabetic' for Type 2. I've since lost 30 pounds and cut back on a lot of sugar, etc. Exercise nearly daily. So hopefully I avoid the Type 2 through some lifestyle changes. But I admit that I really didn't take it seriously until I was diagnosed with a heart issue about 5 months ago. So it has only been in the past 5 months that I started living a much healthier lifestyle.
From what I gather, lifestyle choices make a huge difference in Type 2.
