Gospel Favorites

Love ❤️ that one. It used to be one of the staple songs my band played at church. Thanks. I hadn't heard it in a couple years since we hadn't played it in a while. I actually picked up my guitar and played along.

it is truly very touching
I really enjoy this version with a bit of history
Phipps does no harm to the song
Something I did not know. Thanks Gary

BTW,
After watching the video, my first act was to play the black keys on my piano.
I usually play this piece in the key of "F" which uses both black and white keys.
Without prejudice or concern for color.
As it should be.

That said, I will try "F#" out of respect for Wintley Phipps and his excellent portrayal of history.

Technically, Hallelujah doesn't qualify as "Gospel."
But, it is so beautiful a piece when done well.

BTW, I have been playing Amazing grace in "F#." Just hammered it out by ear some time ago and didn't realize what key I was in.
