First big snow fall......I'm not ready

Ten inches of snow fell Sun night ,we had just finished chaining the tractors and plow truck ,so that was timed right. Bombardiers still have to be gone over ,but I dusted my Red Muskeg off and tracked out some trails . The Shepherd was happy , a little soggy but her winter coat held up ,the rest of it is in my house..........

Great picture ! I love that machine and that the dog likes to ride :)

We had six inches of snow but it is really sticky and still stuck in the trees which are leaning into the roads and lying on powerlines. Ready for a little wind to knock it down.

Extra fun that the ground is mostly not frozen so plowing is cautious and messy.

Sunny and a balmy 43 F today ,so we got some wood pulled out before the rain starts and washes the little bit of snow we have away......but that's ok. Mostly trees that were down across the trails still some left to do ,before getting into the big stuff.

2 nice loads today of a big old maple that mother nature blew down this summer in our sugar bush. Was pretty cool that we saw spile holes my grandfather plugged with wooden dowels in the trunk after tapping season was over, at least 60 years ago. Fast forward and we are back at it for our 2nd year come this spring ,lots of fun doing it.

No snow for skidding ,but great for getting around with the saw. We fell around 12 trees , mostly maples , some beach and hemlock in less than 1 1/2 hrs ,we'll limb them when we go to skid. The soon to be 88 year old "Supervisor " that was supposed to be a supervisor only ,couldn't help himself and cut down half of them.

Quite a bit dragged out today, another day like that might fill the quota , with what we have already cut elsewhere ...... and no snow.... so far.

At least the ground is frozen enough to keep going. With all of the rain around the northeast, the ground hasn't locked up yet.

Was muddy yesterday on the trails , but cool today , so better going ,but frisky at 14 F. Found the elusive "maple hockey stick tree " just got to wait for wood sticks to come back in style .....then I'll cash in......

Good morning, I am new to this forum and you were the first post that I saw. my name is Ian I live in Erin New York I inherited in J5 sw48 when my father passed away and I'm having issues locating what I think is a carburetor governor of some sort. I was wondering if you had any information or you could point me in a direction of somebody that could help me out. I believe it's a 251 Chrysler industrial but there's an odd governor-type situation coming off of the manifold that seems to be missing a cover and some internal parts. I can't find a diagram for it anywhere. Sorry to bother you with a question like this just hoping I can find somebody that can help me answer a few questions.

Welcome to the forum ,there is some Bombardier content here ,just have to search for it ,also lots of groups on Facebook.
The governor block can gutted or be removed ,and bolt the carb direct ,just make sure the carb plates don't interfere with the manifold when opening.

Hauled 20 loads , roughly 40 bush cord , should split out more than that , so that's probably it for now. Going to help my neighbor to cut his next , but we may not have much snow after today and tomorrow ,50 f on the thermometer.

That's it , last of the loads for a buddy , roughly 30 bush cord , we'll see when it splits out. Wood season 2024 is officially over ......... just have to split it later on . Time to get ready for tapping , projected temps of 61 F for Mon ...... maple syrup season could over before it starts.

Collecting Sap is not all "Sunshine and Lollipops " , especially when it involves mud and a broken track .....
