Ridgebacks. They're great dogs, once they get older than 2. Lazy as anything indoors, and they'll run you all day outside. Very loyal and friendly, yet protective when necessary.

I like mutts. Never had a bad one.

Lab/Australian Shepard (current)

Last 3:
Husky/Shepard
Golden Retriever/St. Bernard <<< That's one big-ass dog...
Samoyed/Shepard

I like mutts. Never had a bad one.

I'm with you. All our dogs have been mutts. All have been lab mixes. We've had lab/chow, lab/basset (that was a strange one), lab/red heeler, lab/poodle (labradoodle).

I must admit that I have a soft spot for bull mastiffs and shepherds but never owned either. Maybe next time around.

Oh, I forgot to mention that my son has a ridgeback. That thing is hell on 4 legs. I hope you're right and it settles down when it gets to two.

When I was in Panama building the house the wife adopted a little pup that was staving to death . It stayed with me after my wife returned to the states . I decided to bring it back with me . It was a mixed breed and kinda looked like a baby Greyhound with other stuff mixed in . Anyway at the airport Customs wanted a breed and I had no idea . They insisted that they must have a breed for the paperwork or the dog could not be brought in the states . I looked the guy right in the face and told him she was a Panamian Ridge Runner . He said he had never heard of one . I told him they were very rare and I had the only one I knew of . He passed me through if no problems . Here's my Ridge Runner . She is the one in the middle .

I forgot to add That the UPS lady really like my littlePanamian Ridge Runner dog . I told her when I first brought her back to the states she could only bark in Spanish and the other 2 dogs could not understand her . She thought I was serious and believed me :pat:!

I like rescue dogs.
so far we've rescued a registered Keeshond, siberian/malamute, malamute/grizzly, husky/shepherd/?, aussie shepherd, lab/chow/gsd...

Any Lab (after they grow up a bit and stop chewing on everything!), great personalities.

Blue Tick Hound, someday I'll get another one. I loved the two I've had.

My next dog will be a Rottweiler. I took care of one for a friend for a few months while she danced/worked all night and slept all day and neglected her dog. This thing was huge but it was a really nice dog, friendly to everyone and loved to play. Loved that dog too.

Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab mix, the one I have now. Thinks he is a big dog :whistling:...but he's all bark and no bite. I like Pit Bulls too.

Well I've had a bunch of both pure breeds and mutts through the years. The last two a black lab and a Jack Russel where both great dogs though very different in temperament. I have had several Doberman's also also great dogs especially the females as they are milder tempered than the males. I now have a mutt, a mix between Basset Hound/Jack Russel that really is the perfect dog at my age now. He is quite, gets along well with the wife's cats and well trained. He will probably be the last dog I own really. As I don't see owning another dog in my life. As for cats those we have now will also be about the end of the line though they are much easier than dogs.

As for my favorite it really depends on their individual personalities as no two are the same. I simply like them friendly, none aggressive and get along good with kids as well as other animals. Every one I've ever had in my life has been like that.

Currently we have a black lab. We have had many labs over the years some yellow and some black. They are all great dogs All dogs who stop by can have a dog cookie !!!!

I think I get along better with dogs than people, it must be the unconditional love thing

i will take a nice trailer park trash lab mix any day but mutts make the best pets anyday didn't get any pics but the 5 year old was playing wwf with macarther last night now most dog's wouldn't tolarate that especialy if they are 12 years old like my dog is.

Generally,
German Shepherd Dog
Golden Retriever
Black Lab

that said, my old Aussie Shepherd was an amazing dog. got her from the pound at 9 months old. Put her down at 17 years.

All of my dogs have been from pounds or rescues, except my old Golden Retriever.

Right now have a rescue GSD, and a shelter GSD/mix.

I am with Dawg on this one. Labs, two of them.

My two (Bear and Liam) a chocolate and a black have been together since they were pups. Liam is pure breed as is Bear. Bear was rescued. Took one sniff of me and jumped in my truck. Hasn't left my side in seven years.

Border collies are as loyal as can be and great with kids, but the last one was a Malemute that lost to cancer 2 months ago, have had just plain old mutts that could steal your heart as quick as any . been quite a few in the last 60 years and remember most of them fondly

Mutts or mixed breeds are usually better than pures, but for breeds

Irish Wolfhound
Siberian Huskey
Malamutes
Golden Retriever
Black Labrador
American Bulldogs
English Bulldogs
Rat Terriers

Great pics everyone. I love all dogs, but I have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever so I have to go with that breed. They are very sweet and playful dogs.

i tell myself i am a dog person but all my previous cats said otherwise.lol

as far as dogs i like:

chows(just have to teach them who is master right away)
chihuahua
akita
siberian husky
alaskan malamute
english bulldog
