WTS track belting

SJSC

New member
I have some belts that were made by Okners in Denver for a Tucker. Unfortunatley they punched the belts at 5 7/8" o.c. rather than 6". So we came up 3 3/4" short on the total length of the belt. There are 16 belts total. $400 takes all them.

I also have 6 boogies for pre 1994 Bombardier BR 400. Tires are 5.30 x 12 foam filled $25.00 each.

As soon as I figure out hot to post pics I will.

Re: WTS

The belts are 4 5/8" wide and 141" long center to center of the hinge pin. The holes were punched at 5 7/8" o.c. length wise and are 3" o.c. width wise. There are holes punched for 24 grousers.

We have 16 belts and they are brand new.

Have you considered adding one extra grouser per track?

Adding the extra grouser still wouldn't make the belts any longer. We lost an 1/8" per grouser when they punched the holes at 5 7/8" instead of 6". At 24 grousers that's 3". They would have worked on the sprocket, we just could not get them around the track and laced together. Okner's sent us new belts and so we just hate to throw these away.

I should have written a more detailed response to better explain what I was suggesting...

My first Tucker, a 1980 1543, had one extra grouser per track and that grouser was attached to very short sections of belt (in your case 5 7/8" including the belt lacing at each end).

So instead of being three inches too short (and unusable), by "splicing in" an extra grouser they become 2 7/8 inches "too long" and that difference can be taken up through the track tension adjustment.
