Up for sale is my 1975 301D. Almost all of it has been reworked as we have set it up for recovering vehicles, etc. from the backwoods in Montana. Our shop has done all the work on this machine including the powertrain swap, boom/winch setup, stretching the cab, building the plow, etc. These are some of the highlights, but there is much more. I can provide additional details on request.
Stretched cab for 6 people
Custom built high torque 350 Chevy engine
Heavy duty built turbo 400 transmission
Big alternator
HEI electronic ignition
High capacity oil pan
2 radiators
Engine oil cooler
External transmission cooler
2 electric fans and one engine driven fan
Re-lined brake bands
New sprockets by Fall Line
Solid rubber bogies from a Muskeg for ground clearance
Solid front idlers
Belts and grousers in good shape
Custom electric over hydraulic 4 way blade
Recovery boom and two winches -10,000 and 8,000 lbs.
50 gallon gas tank
Dual electric fuel pumps

Giant battery
Dual heaters
Sweet 5" chrome exhaust stack
This machine has done a great job for us retrieving things over the years. The one external radiator keeps the heat out of the cab and the bench seat in the back makes it easy to carry lots of people or equipment. It drives very well and steers easily. It will go most places, but if your looking to pioneer a road in three feet of powder up a 30 percent grade, this is not the machine for you. It would make a great machine to continue what we use if for or for cabin access or just dinking around. With the Muskeg bogies and steel tracks we have used it in marshy areas as well. For those not interested in the boom/winches part of it, those can be easily removed and you would have a nice flatbed area. The lettering are stickers and also easily removed.
If you are seriously interested, I can send you tons of pictures of this thing at work. I know it's not the right time to sell, but it's one of those things I don't have to sell right now either. Our new machine is here and this one is just extra. I'm asking $20,000 but am open for offers or negotiations on included equipment. The upgrades in parts alone are worth 20, but I developed the "snow cat sickness" and couldn't help myself. Feel free to call anytime with questions. Thanks for looking.
