WTB Thiokol 601,602

How hard does someone have to look to find a Thiokol 4T10, 601 or 602 preferably? I don't care as much about the mechanics as I do the body. Drivetrain I can deal with but extensive body work I don't have patience for. I am located in Canada on the Michigan border so either east or west is fine with me. If anyone has information that will help please reply or share your thoughts. Thank you.

There is a couple of spots in Maine where a guy stores his 601's and others that he does not pay very close attention to how many are in the buildings
and even some outside!!!!!! Ish for a price or a couple of beers I might Talk.:yum::yum:
he never does anything with them and rarely drives and never tucks them in at night. :brows:they think they are destined to the cave .

I know this guy in Brainerd that's got a snowcat business... I mean museum... I mean bsuiness that has hoards and hoards of 6-series ... so many he even sells some of 'em... with the first culling of herd being the albino's. ;)

There are a few buds that had their Imps for sale...let me get some G2

ive got a line on a 1404 and a 1450 but both are rough(no problem)and they want stupid $$$ for them(big problem)....so I ll keep looking

No. Way too much effort goes into the adoption process .... disowning would be an emotional endeavor. ;)

Snowcat hazing. Sheesh. ;) What next?

Lemme look into a couple options. I know of two Imps and a friend of a friend with a couple sprytes...

What's up guy's i'm new to the forum and i'm looking for a 4t10 or 601 on the eastcoast. I live in dirty jersey and plan on doing some exploring in the winter month's north of me. I found some cat's out west but if you guy's could help me find some a bit closer that would be great. The condition of the cat is no big deal no motor no trans that's ok i would like to do a cummins 6bt and hydrostatic drive keeping it stock is not my thing. Thanks jack frost

the odds of finding one on the east coast are slim (big competition)....even the east coast guys buy the ones in the west:brows:

i am a big fan of the 6bt, but not in a trackmaster (4t or 600 series) at nearly 1200lbs you are triple the weight of the ford inline 6. a 4bt is about 750 lbs and would be a better choice. Still a lot heavier. then again if mods are your thing you could always widen the axles and do a 45" tracks that would probably handle the extra weight of the 6bt no problem. I have 42" asymmetrical tracks (shorter on the out side belt by 3 inches) on my white and light blue 4t4 (custom full cab) and it does great in the light stuff.

Dude...you just need to understand...The hunt and the adoption process is a really big part of the "snowcat bug"...kind of a justification process to be able to deserve to have one of these gals in the stable...sometimes comes with a little bit of "hurt" just to get 'er in then you have to do all that "tender loving care" stuff....These older Thiokols are just too special man:wow:

Hear! Hear!

There has to be sweat... there needs to be tears... and, unfortunately, an unhealthy amount of blood spilled (toil/labor/feuding/dibs/etc.). It can get a wee-bit ugly...and not that the auction under way for the LMC1200 is anywhere near ugly...but it's a glimpse.... "You don't want that piece of @#$%!" (oh, and then the winning bidder comes out... "did I forget to tell you I have a fetish for bad cats and so will bid it sky high??? oh and as it turns out it was a diamond in the rough... lucky! lucky!":shifty:). :w00t2:

Like I said before... history has been known to repeat itself... it just depends on hitting up Boggie at the right time... and I think right about now IS a good time with a pretty phat pipeline of rigs he's got his dibs on at the moment. :shifty:

See... here's a happy 601 marriage made from Brainerd...

what you talking bout, Mainer, the only reason the white ghost went to a new home is I felt you jinx it. and she was no virgin anymore. and Wesley
said he would take good care of it. and nurse her back to health. I might have some old broken 601 axles (did I ever say that they break axles left and right) and some predrilled(and dented )then cut body parts.
