With Regret

The Old Salt
America idolized and memorialized Whitney Houston, yet looked the other way concerning her well known substance abuse and tumultuous life with singer Bobby Brown.

Charlie Sheen is 45 and his story is all over the news because he is a
Substance abuser, an adulterer, sexually promiscuous and obnoxious.

Lindsay Lohan is 24 and her story is all over the news because she is a
Celebrity drug addict and thief.

Something as frivolous as Kim Kardashian's stupid wedding [and
Short-lived marriage] was shoved down our throats like they count for something,

All the while:

Justin Allen 23
 Brett Linley 29
Matthew Weikert 29
 Justus Bartett 27
Dave Santos 21
 Jesse Reed 26
 Matthew Johnson 21
 Zachary Fisher 24
Brandon King 23
 Christopher Goeke 23
And Sheldon Tate 27...

Are all United States Marines who gave their lives last month for us. There is no media for them; not even a mention of their names. Young men who most likely came from rural America seeking a chance
to better themselves and to serve this country.

KEEP YOUR TRUST IN GOD. YOUR GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED YOU MISERABLY.

Unfortunately this is the culture We've become . To pissed off to post more . Tried to rep You , that didn't go well either .

Having troubles tonight are ya John? I fixed it for you and gave him a rep. You can rest now

The whole culture of our land has slowly changed and gets worse with time. This is what happens when god and country are not taught to several generations. They idolize those "stars" and ignore or turn their backs on our defenders of freedom.

very few deserve anywhere near the respect those that pass/serve while fighting for us, this country, those that give themselves over so bravely. media, have some respect!
yes, addiction is a bona-fide illness. it shouldn't be a media frenzy.

Thanx for the reps guys. This was sent to me today and it quite honestly choked me up. I have never been a hero worshiper, but these Marines are my heroes. Good men every one. I pray the Lord has a special place in Heaven for each and every one.

Semper Fi my brothers. :( Heaven has a place for each and every one of them.

As for those that say the culture has changed... you haven't met my kids. They'll take a soldier's talk as opposed to i(what the F is it?, iPad, iPod...) any day.

Our local school is going to put an Air Force General as their "person of the year". We're going to line the school with kids, ribbons, veterans... to give him what he deserves.

Loved your original post TR.. and yes.. I agree.

Got a thread locked for bringing something similar up in a chat thread recently on a cooking forum of all places.. (JEV?) ;)

Anuddah rep on the way.

Yes, it is sad, and needs saying. Unfortunately this is a natural phenomenon. Once a culture reaches a certain age, decadence sets in. It happened to Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Aztecs and the Maya. Just our turn now.
That being said, I find it despicable that we care more for doping idiots than we do those who serve and die for our country.

agree with all.

one of the main reasons moved to rural america. the important stuff matters. will never forget the homecoming a local fallen hero received. towns for miles around lowered their flags, hungg yellow ribbonS EVERYWHERE and particularly on the route the family drove to bring him into everyone stopped their daily doings to line up and support the family.

about a week or so later, tons of bikers did a ride on behalf of the family.
flags on all the bikes, mix of rough riders, weekend riders, 100's of them.
was out that day, and saw them. people pulled over as they would for emergency vehicles.

small towns may have their issues, but when chips are down they know what is truly important.
