I was in the same boat and bought a new Dell with W11 back in March. Not sure if that will fix your speed issues, but I bought my old laptop 8 years ago. My new laptop is lightning fast compared to the old. Moving stuff from the old to the new was pretty easy but a warning about W11. It will automatically start uploading your files to OneDrive under the auspices of "backing up" your data. Make sure you turn that feature off before you move your data over to the new computer.

I'm still using Win10. It works and has a couple tools that they do away with in Win11.
Defrag your hard drive might speed things up, or if hard drive is about full that can slow things down. If that is the case a portable hard drive would let you off load / backup some of the data to free up space.
Other causes could be a virus. Windows Defender is a good anti virus tool and included with Win10 and 11

Good tip JPR. :tiphat:
