Who rebuilds Tucker bogies?

gheck with brad at minnisota outdoors you can get ahold of him py sending member boggie a pm or goggle him.

Actually...........

Call Tucker. I had been looking for replacement track belts for some time and decided to see what Tucker would do. They came in WELL UNDER any other quotes I had for complete belts, plus they were precut, drilled, and laced, with hardware! I also asked about replacement wheels or just having mine re-done. They will obviously sell you new ones but will also rebuild the one's you have AND THEY ARE VERY COST COMPETITIVE! Yep, I was set back, but bought all new belting from Tucker! I'm just holding out a little longer before I have some wheels re-done (cost!).

On a side note, they DO NOT recommend the urethane anymore! They have been having lots of issues with separation and have gone back to rubber. They will do what ever you want, but rubber is what I have and that's what they say works/worked best.

Whoa!

I can't speak to the OP's question about Tucker bogies (actually called "idler wheels"), but as far as track belting I didn't think they were competitive at all, price-wise.

I'm a BIG fan of Tucker, and have purchased more than a few parts from them, but I was quoted $220.00 per belt for a single 1600 series track belt (which is pre-punched and has the end lacing installed).

The Tucker belts are 220 PIW (pounds per inch width) and I found belting at roughly $50.00 per belt which was 330 PIW and was unpunched and needed end lacing.

Considering that a Tucker has 16 track belts, and based upon several comments from forum members, I'm going that route.

My experience is: On many, many parts Tucker is very cost competitive and on some others, they are very spendy. I will always call them to get their pricing, but I'll also call other suppliers.

I will say that Tucker's customer service is exceptional. Their parts and service manager is an exceptionally "good guy" and they don't treat their shipping as a "profit center" (a concept which I find very offensive), they also ship parts right away.

Raw belting is cheap. That's not what I was takling about.

Punching all the holes and doing the lacing is very time consuming (as anyone on here knows). I don't really have the time and didn't want to mess with it so I was looking for COMPLETE belts. Here is where Tucker did their job, and did it for 30% less than any other supplier I got quotes from, including shipping.

Now, as for the boggie wheels...
Tucker can sell a NEW one for about $20-$30 more than the average I've been quoted by other companies for "rebuilding" the ones I have. The same seems true for sprockets. I'm currently working on trying to clean up the wheels I have to see if I want to have them rebuilt, but if I don't like the results than I'll probably just buy the newer-style ones from Tucker. I have the early-style 1500-series wheels and the sides of the rims are all chewed up......:ermm:

The point being, you might want to check with Tucker on pricing of new boggie wheels verses having the ones you own rebuilt (by them or anyone else). They may surprise you.

I've got a couple of idlers that were recovered by FallLine in Reno (http://www.fallline.com). It didn't cost much less to have them recovered than the cost of new ones from Tucker, but they wear very well - better than the rubber on the stock ones I have. I also have several sprockets that were redone by Fallline and they also wear better than the rubber ones from Tucker. I'm in Alaska, so the shipping wasn't cheap - especially because you have to pay to ship them both ways instead of just one way with new ones - but I still think the urethane recovers from FallLine are a better deal.

Ditto on Fall Line - Just bought a couple of belts from them for my 1642. Nice folks - allow plenty of lead time, they seem to be getting busy.
