Gone But Not Forgotten
My kids just told me that Whitney Houston has passed away. It evidently is on some Twitter Feeds but I don't see it published anyplace.

Just showed up on TV. She passed at 48. Hard to imagine.

I guess we posted this at the same time. I posted an article about it with mine in Open Forum. Perhaps one of the mods will put these two together in to one thread.

Wow.. this is so sad.
Fox and CNN are all over it at the hour.
I think it's important that they are stressing that they have no news on what caused her death.. some news feeds are assuming it was drugs etc..
Maybe not..
What a talent, what a voice!!

My favourite tunes of hers..

She was to attend a pre-Grammy party this evening hosted by Clive Davis.
It's said she was just fine on Thursday at some event.
Found in a bath tub at the Beverly Hilton hotel.. her body is still there.
Some woman on Fox News keeps mentioning Clive Owens.. who?
She said it 4 times--
Looks like the media are going nutso already on this story.

May she rest in peace, however her passing came about.

Wanna make a bet it was drugs or suicide, what a talent though a long time ago. She married the wrong guy! Hope she gets to return to her roots in heaven.

I don't know, Doggie..
The coroner hasn't even arrived there yet.
News is saying a family member or members are saying it was a drowning.
If she drowned under the influence, that is some sad, sad stuff.
If she drowned while getting ready for the party by natural causes.. sad too.
Suicide.. don't even want to go there..

I'm with you PG with "I Will Always Love You" near the top of my list of songs by her I liked. I wasn't aware Dolly Parton wrote it though I have heard her sing it. I even liked the movie the Body Guard as well as the Preacher's Wife.

Crack Kills...

Exactly.

Honestly I have a hard time feeling sorry for her given the screwed up life of drugs and abuse she lived. She was very very talented, I take none of that away from her and am in awe of that. But as for her life and how she lived it, not much to admire there.

Yep, much truth here. When given that much talent and opportunity, it's hard to feel sorry for someone that throws it away. Choices have consequences.

Wonderfull singer and actor, one of the best of our times if not the best.

Not so wonderfull of a person with lifes choices and her personal life style.

osuch an unusual combination, in public today. Many examples of this, if you think about it. I feel sorry for her family and friends more than I do for her. She made her bed.....

Loved her voice though, and will always will consider her the best of her times.

What a shame,

Nice looking young woman, but she don't do any justice to this song. Dolly Parton would put her to shame any time.....

I'm also a Dolly Parton fan and don't disagree as though the song was written by Dolly Parton their singing style and ranges are very different making it really a different song. I like both versions also but personally I felt Whitney Houston had the purist range of any woman singer I've heard in my life time. As for her life style I make no judgements other than to say Dolly seems to of lived a better life. I have no idea why people with everything to live for often throw their lives away but the do often.

Heck of a voice .... Such a waste of life . 48 is too young .She had nothing but trouble after marrying that "Wife Beater" of a husband .RIP:sad:

Another sad story of a young person killing themselves with drugs. Whether you liked her music or not, is irrelevant. Any life lost before it's time is a tragic thing.

She was a good singer, and death is tragic.

But why does her death get so much attention, when the death of our soldiers does not(in media). They put their life on the line, and make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

Easy, we live in the United States of America where our real hero's as the pretty people that make no difference in our lives. The term is superficial society that comes to my mind. Besides the soldiers that put their live up for our freedoms daily don't as a rule come from the upper class with lots of money hence on 1% of the population serves.

Yes, I know. It was more a rhetorical question.

Heard on the radio that Whitney's daughter was rushed to the hospital this afternoon. They didn't say why.

Here found it. Daughter

"Crack is Whack" - Whitney Houston. To bad she couldn't get off the stuff; the more that comes in on the news it does sound like drugs.
