Whats this 'Cat?

Snowcat Pat

Active member
My neighbor owns this one, he says it's a Thiokol, but it looks like a Bombardier, though the construction is in the Thiokol manufacturing style. Hydrostatic drive, mid engine, has a Valley Engineering blade, and sports an old Snowcraft sticker.
I have some more photos if it would help with the ID.

Let's see the additional photos. Also is it hydraulic steer, brake steer? Who made the engine and what year is the chassis? Most brands only used some engine manufacturers in certain years/models so it might be able to rule out one brand or another based on the engine. Any ID plates anywhere on that unit to indicate anything?

Here are more photos. The best of the bunch. Not much to go on but the machine is totally buried in snow right now so thats all I can get. It does look like a PB but the owner says its a Thiokol. The tire guides look like Bombardier. The owner seems to have lost interest in it so I thought I would make an offer but I don't know what this machine is. it needs much work thats for sure. It made one trip to his cabin last winter and been parked out there ever since.

Pretty sure it's a 80,,s model pb 100 there should be a id tag on the pass side under the seat i think that cat was in cal and it had a ford capri v6 engine with hydstat drive i was told that it was the only one in the states with a gas motor looks like someone changed the track as the one i new of had aluminum tracks cleats on it

did you ever find out what year this cat was? did you decide to purchase it from this party or not?is it still for sale and if it is how much? thanks .

It has not been up for sale. It is completely buried in snow right now. I haven't heard from the owner for two months when he called us to inquire about buying a quad track machine, so I posted to find out what make/model it is to make an offer to the owner since he does not use it.

the plow and rounded windshield were the first clue towards PB , the bolts instead of studs and lug nuts is another giveaway that its german made. Is it diesel or gas? :respect:

I knew I had seen one of these before and after digging through my old snowcat brochures I found a picture of one. It is a O.D.G. Sasquatch and Snow Craft Inc. in Colorado had one for sale in the early 90s. That company is now Saftey One, and when I called them many years ago and inquired about the Sasquatch, I was told, DON'T BUY IT. Save your money and invest in a Spryte, which is what I did.
