What to do after 35 years??

Gone But Not Forgotten
Looking for ideas for our anniversary next week. Got to be reasonably cheap cause the school taxes usually come about this time also. Don't know what the fancy rules say about this many years. Like silver, diamonds, china etc.

Well, Mulie, after 35 years, what she'll want is something nice to remember the occasion. Take her out for a nice dinner, A nice non-practical gift, and some of your time. Time is the best gift you can give your girl. Whether you buy "the appropriate" thing or not is not an issue.

And, don't forget the flowers!

Date??? Hell it was lust at first sight. I did not even buy her a soda! We are both too old for what went on that night.:whistling::brows::brows: I think I did take her to breakfast the next morning.

Hell Ya done bought her a new stove and built her a couple of nice greenhouses what else could she want. :yum:

But Seriously I think Trakternut is spot on with his advice. Just make it special and out of the ordinary , your the only one that knows what that would take.

Yeah, no kidding! :yum:

But yes, Billiam. I do agree. Make it something she won't forget. A lovely dinner, a nice gift, (something engraved,) and just give her yourself for the evening.

Congratulations I' at 36 years with the same wife and I don't know how she puts up with me :yum:

Show up at the front door wearing a neglige when she gets home from work that will put a new spin on things.:yum:

Then get dressed in your best Sunday bib-overhauls and go to Hotel Mannor in Slate Run great food

35 years?
Congratulations Bill and Mrs. Muley.
Let's see, that calls for an emerald.
Buy her a nice little emerald ring and drop it in her morning juice, the juice that she'll drink along with eating the breakfast you've prepared for her.
Make mad passionate love to her..
Then take a refreshing dip in the pool!:flowers::smile:

GEEZ! After making the breakfast, the old goat will need a nap :yum::yum::yum:

We celebrated 30 tonight ................ dinner and flower ............... we're simple folk!

Yes, pg's correct, its the Emerald. And, I entirely agree with Rusty. Just give her yourself; your time and your company. Nothing ostentatious; a nice dinner, maybe at home, a favorite movie, a pair of Emerald Earings, or an Emerald Ring. A late night walk after the movie. Just the two of you, together. Perfect. :flowers:

Well it is easy to see that most of the guys on here don't know any more than I do about this. Emeralds eh? Don't know about that but will check around. Thanks to the ladies I at least know what I am supposed to get her. I did find her a huge chunk of green glass type stuff this spring and yesterday I dug up a neat rock she just had to bring along home.:clap:

I dunno about that emerald thing, Mulie. According to my dad, 35 years is battery charger.

Funny you mention that. She bought me a battery charger 33 years ago. It is a slow rate charger that has served me well for all these years. While I do have a bigger heavy duty one that is the one used for slow charging a lot of things like lawn mowers etc. Here is the big chunk of green glass or whatever that I found her earlier this year. Wonder if that is close to an emerald?:ermm: Then again I just picked her a bucket full of tomatoes so she has something to do later today. That has to count for something.:yum::yum:

Hell, I was thinking a new riding lawn mower or new hunting rifle.... Emeralds? Where did that come from?

Good thing I'm not in charge of your party!:whistling:

Actually, just so all you guys know; we don't want washing machines, and crockery sets, or books on how to unravel the mind of a neandert er... man. Last year, for my birthday, someone bought me the boxed set of 'Band Of Brothers.' I had others things given me for that birthday, but that was the best gift I could have gotten. I was so delighted.

Trouble with guys is that they 'think in the box.' They think predictably, and we're anything but predictable.

:whistling: :halo:

I learned the hard way.

NEVER give your wife something with a cord attached for any holiday.

Well she got a new set of plates 5 months ago. A new stove last month and a $100 mandolin last week. Maybe the log truck will show up with the extra load of firewood logs? That would work for me. Called them this morning and there are still six people ahead of us on the list but he hopes next week or so they will get here.

Whatever you do never ask your wife WHAT she wants , you may not like the answer .

I have a couple of ex,s i made that mistake with, and their answers were " The house, car, divorce, ect, ect.
