First I had to spend five days packing and bagging everything because we have termites and it has to be tented. Spend four days at the hotel only to come home to no air conditioning. Good thing that we have friends in the business. It was 107 yesterday and is going to be the same today. We finally got the air going around 6:00.

I can loan you the skunk that has been visiting us and spaying in front of the house and the side of the house. I just ran him off with the pickup by blowing the horn and following him down to the drain culvert. Dogs scared him when I turned them loose for a run while mowing. Got hornets building a nest in the garden shed to spray tomorrow. Suburban blew a brake line along the frame while towing my trailer hauling a ZTR mower. Now the truck has a gas line along the frame leaking. :whistling:

I think that I can do without the skunk.

I must say that the folks at Extended Stay America did everything they could to make our stay a good one. Whatever I asked for I had within a very short period of time.

Maybe I need to book a room there and prop my sore foot up. But then again vicodin is pretty cheap...............:yum::yum:

Well the skunk came back and the GSD went after it. She got sprayed and turned around and went after in the garden since the gate was open from picking peppers earlier this afternoon. Now we have to finish the peppers and the wife is going to work on the dog while I work on the skunk with the 12 ga. I have been smelling skunk for 3 days and now have an inside dog to get the smell off of.:hammer::hammer:

The other shoe has dropped. The gas company came out yesterday and turned everything on including the hot water heater. It will not stay lit. So they are suppoed to be coming out again today. In the meantime my son who has experience as a plumber and a friend who is one are going to take a look to see if they can fix it. MAYBE sometime today I'll have hot water.

Skunk is such a nice smell. Even though I live in a very big city we still have wildlife here. We have coyotes, rabbits, raccoons, oppossums, red tailed hawks and the squirrels that I'm always complaing about. And we also have skunks. Every now and then I'll smell it. Good luck getting rid of that varmit.

Water heater is probably the thermocouple. They go bad after being off sometimes. The skunk is history but i will wait till morning to bury him. The dog is pretty smell free but she ain't coming in the bedroom. Neither does the wife!:whistling::yum::yum:

You are in deep s**t if you think that you can keep her out of the bedroom. You'll have two sore feet plus other body parts. :yum:

That's what the guys said. They are working on it now. Had to go get parts and if nothing else will jury rig the darn thing. It's all messed up. It's only five years old but has a ten year warranty.

I guess I was lucky I didn't have to have my house tented when I had termites. The exterminater drilled holes all over just above the foundation and put some kind of poison in them.

Sounds like you had dry wood termites. Spraying will take care of them. We had subterranian termites. No choice but to tent. I'm using the opportunity to go through everything, reorganize, and toss. Doing deep cleaning also. It will probably take me a couple of weeks but the house will be cleaner than it has been in years.

Picked up the cat yesterday from the vets where I boarded him. They did not want to see him leave. The gal asked if we could leave him there a few more days. She even took the time to brush him every day. I've had several offers to adopt him from the staff there. It's nice to know that they really like him and will take good care of him. Not only does he have a great personality but he never tries to bite or claw them. He protests loudly though. Big old Maine Coon cat, long haired lynx point color, all 17 pounds of him.

Hey, that don't surprise me at all. They are kind of like a woman. If you don't use them regular they get temperamental.:whistling: I can't say much as it is almost heating season up here. I cleaned up the ashes at my wood boiler and gathered up some kindling to start a fire. Been awful mild with only a few nights in the 30's but soon we will need to fire it up.

Nope. No request to cut back on usage. My son went topside and said that the fuse is okay but a wire is fried. The copper is okay but the the covering is history.
