the cab looks to be thiool2100 on closer inspection it looks more like an old wide pad dozer with an aftermarket arctic cab. likely it was never fitted with a blade and was intended for use as a cat train.

In my travels I have come across Dozers, John Deere and Caterpillar, that were offered with extra wide tracks specifically for Snow applications. It is likely that other makes offered these special 'snow-tracks' too.

Don't you just love how some guys put lipstick on a pig... "Snow cat in good shape" fallowed by "needs engine work" Just what in the hell would this machine be like if this person said it was in "poor" shape....

BTW my bet is 60's John Deere crawler, 300 series....

possibly Oliver OC-4 68 with custom tracks?

Maybe.. But I believe the tracks are probably original. I have a book of Oliver machinery, will have to look and see if they had a wide track set availble... It would be a real find for an Oliver collector...

it's A cool looking little project I have no use for projects right now just a need for machines that work.

They used to run those at our local ski area when I was a kid, except without the cab and not with those tracks. They had the standard narrow tracks, with 2x4's bolted on to widen them.

My neighbor used to groom there then, and "fondly" remembers how close your feet were to the tracks, plus what happened if (when) they got at all sideways on the steeper areas. (FWIW, he still farms in these hills, and he's rolled tractors several times over the years. One tough old bird.)

I used to own a Mint Lindeman BO, so I know it's not that, and a guy in Washington that used to have a collection of Olivers had one machine with wider than normal tracks. At Mt. Rainier Natioal Park, up at Paradise, they keep a Wide Track Dozer, maybe two, can't remember the make.
