Back Off Topic, assuming there is any modest snow cover, and assuming that snow to be a cushion then there is no problem with ride quality. Now when you're driving on ice or hardpack then the machines do ride a bit rough, but realize that generally these are not well sprung machines to begin with so most of the suspension is pretty rigid. These don't ride like your fathers Oldsmobile even in the best conditions. Then again, realize they are a fairly slow mode of transport. Top speed for most brands is about 20mph, the Bombardier C18 and similar models could reach 30 in ideal conditions.[Off topic of ID'ing the Spryte]
This photo shows very well something that has made me curious. The rear (drive) axle on these cats seems mounted very low. Because that axle is unsuspended (mounted solidly) doesn't that make cause for easy damage and to a lesser extent, a terrible ride quality?
Wouldn't it be better to elevate that axle ~6" and rice the weight of the machine on the suspended axles?
