the poster says its "home made" but I'd guess its the frame and drive from an older snowcat. But what? Owner is asking $8000.

The Two speed rear could mean it has a Studebaker Weasel rear differential. That would be a very good thing indeed.
The grousers look like Thiokol to me, but not sure at all.

That beast is very close to me somewhere, I also live in Calavaras county Ca. ant its not that big of a county.
 
The photos on the ad are quite poor but you guys do think its a 100% home build? I doctored up the 2 I posted here.
 
It's a custom build on a lightfoot chassis. Who knows about the engine, seems back in the day the old boy who was the original builder would go down to the wrecking yard and buy a power plant he liked, they were usually ford, but other engines were also used, than he would build a cat around them. The craftsmanship looks pretty good on that rig, and the tracks look in better shape than mine.
