what is a fair price?

for a used refig? It is a maytag. 7 yrs old. but not been used for the past 2. (If that matters) Paid 700 or 800. Price I was told was 200. Is that to much?

Hell Yes thats high ! I can buy them all day long here for $50 with a warranty . Keep looking

I believe you are better off purchasing a new one. Even a seven year old refrigerator is going to be significantly less efficient than a new one, and will probably pay for itself in saved electricity in a few years.

I have a 10 yr old Maytag and would not sell it for 200. It all depends on the size of the frig and freezer. If it is a side by side with an ice maker and in door water and ice dispenser it would be a great buy for 200.
A good fridge lasts a long time. You can expect 20+ years out of a good one.
10 years ago ours cost 1700 (on sale). To buy one like it now for 200 would be a bargain to me.

The not been used part does cause some concern. I do believe they are better off running than sitting not being used. Call a maytag repair shop and ask about that model, and ask about issues with one sitting that long. Maybe you could have the fridge evaluated by the repair guy for a few bucks.
