What a week so far.

I had a great weekend last weekend. That all came to an end when I came into the office monday morning.

First, my manager's mother passed away last friday. Then, I find out that our office manager had a heart attack on Sunday night. He's doing ok and had a pacemaker put in.

Then, the news came in that a young family who I'm related to(very distant) was killed in a head on collision with a transport. They were 19, 18, and had a 2 year old baby.

On top of that, I have been dealing with double the caseload this week at work running around like crazy.

Plus, right now, my girlfriend is in surgery. I was unable to be with her since it's down in Toronto and I have to work. It's not a major surgery or anything. Just some cosmetic stuff since she had a gastric bypass a couple years ago. All part of the game I guess.

We've all been pulling together this week to make things happen at work. It's been a bit hectic with half the office gone.

I can relate Brian, though not to that extent. No deaths or heart attacks at least.
Like you, had a great weekend. Whole family got together for DIL's graduation & party. She is now an RN and planning to get her bachelors. We all went out boating on Sunday and had a grand time. All went well until my brother and his main squeeze were heading to the docks. They got into a major fight. They got the boat home and she took off walking down the road. They've split up, at least for now. Then my sister was mowing with a push mower and went to clear some grass from the back flap and the blade nicked her fingers. They are all bruised and one might be broken (at least she didn't loose any fingers). And all of my team is on a mission out of town so I'm filling in for all 3 of them. Keeping me swamped. Things are coming up that never have before since we just implemented a major change in IT configuration. ...when it rains it pours, huh?

Yup. Seems that way. We just finished preparing a big lunch to bring over to my manager's place. They have a huge family.

I'm still waiting to hear how my girlfriend's surgery went. She went in at 10am this morning it was supposed to be a couple hours at most. Needless to say I'm starting to worry a bit.

With post op times it can be a while before they can get close to a phone. I figure you'll here from her anytime now. Best Wishes that it all comes out okay.

Hang in there Brian. Doc will get over his situation quicker than you will. When staffing issues like this happen it helps that everyone pulls together.

Cheers Brian.
Real sorry to hear you were related to the family in the accident. My prayers go out to you and the family.
We were about 10 minutes behind the accident , comming back from a fishing trip in the Ignace area. If its any help I am sure they never suffered at all.
Hang in there and remember the good times.
Nor.

Sorry that anyone has to have a bad week! Hope this next bunch of weeks is a major turnaround to the positive for you!

Good news is that my gf made it through surgery ok and is now recovering in the hospital. The funeral for my manager's mom is tomorrow. Basically the whole office is going. No word yet on funeral arrangements for my distant relative. They are talking having a memorial service next week sometime. I didn't really know the ones who passed on in the accident but did know their parents. My other manager is doing alright with a pacemaker and is resting at home now. Things will work out eventually I'm sure.

That is good news Brian. Congrats.
And my condolences for your relatives that were in that accident. That is horrible. So sorry for the family.
