Water is coming up/we are packing

The Red River is coming up and we are packing out the main floor of the house & shop today. Right now it just better to be safe than sorry. This was our last trip to town last Thursday, it is 3 miles away. As of yesterday we were driving an hour to get around to town, that road was to go under today. So our next tripin with the camper will be about 2 hours. With all of the cold there are to many ice jams to put a boat in yet. Our farm is safe to 43 feet, the best guess we have now for the water 43' 5". This all depends on the melt of the new snow and how much overland flooding is caused by the ice jams. Things change in a hurry here. Will post more pictures as time allows.

Best wishes and hope you can keep everything hi enough to stay out of the water.

May have to change your profile location to read NW Minnessota IN the Red River!....

Prayers your way!

Much better to be safe than sorry!!!!! Keep your feet dry and head above water while staying safe....:whistling:

Best wishes Redragtop. A flood is bad enough but to be flooded and have to deal with ice in the water, man, that would be horrible. Stay safe. Don't drive through standing water ....it can fool you too easily.

Good luck. Stay high and dry! We've been in that situation in the past when the level of our local lake rose up by 3 feet in the spring. We were living by the water then, I still remember the 4 ft whitecaps crashing against the house. Not fun. Anyways, stay safe.
