Wanted: Track Guards for Bombardier SV252 Skidozer

New member
I need to replace several track guards on a SV-252. The tracks are 29" wide, and the guards measure 12" long. Who sells such items?

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks Boggie. I tried to search for the answer, but I guess I'm too old to get it right. I appreciate your help. I'll call them tomorrow.

Is it possible to straighten bent track guards? I've got a couple dozen which are bent. I'd rather fix them than replace them, if possible.

Are they hardened?

Any advice is welcome.

take them off , get out torch, heat them up and bend them back into shape, I have had no issues with one that have been straightened , may have to reweld any ones that welds break, if they are broken anywhere tire runs or sprocket touches throw them away, I have seen many sprockets screwed up trying to save a few dollars

i did the same thing with some of my snow trac guides also some had holes worn in to them i covered them with som metal and mig welded them in so far i havn't got in to my private reserve but the time is comming

Thanks guys. I assumed they could be straightened.

Are they hardened, and do I need to temper them after heating?

FYI I got my replacements from Minn. Outdoors (Boggie) for less than $16 each. They had round bolt holes instead of square for carriage bolts, but I just got some hex-heads and they worked great.
