Wanted: i need an engine for my 1969 bombardier J5 sidewalk plow. model
3 J569. the motor serial # that i have is 158 6 47, made in canada.

Is it a Ford engine? If so, then I'd bet you could find one in salvage.

I was under the impression that some of the sidewalk plows used 4 cylinder Ford powerplants?

Thanks for the quick reply, BUt it seems to have been a Chrysler coproration engine, not a ford. It was a 6 cylinder though. Any other ideas? Thanks.

I knew Chrysler supplied a lot of the earlier engines for Bombardier, particularly the B12/C18 series machines, but didn't realize they had continued to use them into the late 60's or even in that model. If its a Chrysler 6 cylinder engine, odds are it is just an altered version of one of their automotive engines. You may be able to find a very similar engine that was used in Chrysler cars from that time period. If you can figure out which auto engine was used as the basis, then simply check local scrap yards, salvage yards, engine rebuilders in your area.
