WANTED; Dead or Alive

johnday

The Crazy Scot, #3
I'm looking for a backblade, 7'. I have a Craftsman, 10" tablesaw, with a castiron table, fence, and 1 table wing, I'll trade, or how many $? Condition of blade not real important, as long as it's usable.
Any distance within 200 miles of Detroit is fine. I'll pick it up!!:walk: :boobies: :tiphat: :US_flag:

I have a 6', a 7', and a 9'. I use the 7' and the 9'. An uncle borrowed the 6' about 5 years ago. It may be gone now. Anyway, watch eBay. I came across a bargain on my 9' blade. It's one of those really heavy ones, about 1000 pounds, and I got it for $250. The cutting edge is still straight and in good shape. At least I thought it was a bargain. I just found it a little late. I'd just purchased the 7' Woods brand new.

I do regularly and lately they have been scarce. Local TSC doesn't stock anything larger than 6'. Northern has a medium duty 7' for $390, shipping would kill that deal. Heavy's run $750 plus. If I find a 7' local for less than $500 I'll buy it! Hell, I sold a 4' on eBay after I upgraded for $200.

Think I did okay like I think on the 9 footer? It's a cat. 2, but my tractor takes 1 or 2. It's really old, but it tilts (don't really need that with my T&T), turns, has a good edge, and is very heavy and is not loose. I never compared it to any other old ones because I haven't seen any others. It was about $1200 to $1500 less than a comparable new one. That's why I "feel" I got a decent deal.

Brent; Sounds like ya done did good!!!

I'm going to modify my hearts desire here. I could use an 8 footer, and I could use a 6 footer, preferably being able to offset the 6' one, or the 7'. The cutting edge doesn't have to be in the best of shape, I could replace that.:sex:

I have a fairly lite duty 6' I never use. it's in real nice shape. Make an offer. it's at my Wooster. Oh property. I can get a pic. if anyone wants one....................

Hi Tom; Can you offset this one to either or both sides? I can probably offset it enough with the TPH lower links. Wooster isn't that far from Monroe, about a 3 hour drive it looks like. Please post those photos, I'm interested.:US_flag:  :tiphat:

John......I don't think it off sets any, just the regular 360 pivot on the center. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

Brian.........I think John had 1st dibs but I'll try to get a pic anyway.......... BTW....I got your x-mas gift here, just need to mail 'em........hint..........they only had larges & they fit a little tight, but I think you'll like 'em...............

Tom,

John (and anyone else) can have dibs and only if nobody else wants it, I'm interested.

I already have a 6'. I modified mine yesterday and if I like it, it'll be a dedicated snow removal blade (and then I'll start looking for another blade).
I cut a strip of rubber off one of the cow mats (1" thick rubber) and mounted to the bottom of the blade. The steel blade directly on the concrete or blacktop was doing a little damage so I wanted to try something that won't snag on the expansion joints nor scrape off the sealer.

I'll send you a PM on the other thing.

Brian

6' blade, light duty, 360* pivot (was using it to back drag hence the reversed blade in the pics) it's mint for what it is.......I used it for snow removal.........John has 1st right of refusal, after that BC you can jump in
