I'm looking for two (2) five lug rims, 5 1/2" spacing for vintage 65 Thiokol Snowcat Spryte project.

Thanks in advance for info or leads.

let me make a suggestion replace them with the alloy wheels used on the later rigs like 2100 and 3700 thiokols. the bolt together rims were prone to cracking out if you want a bullet proof front rim than go with a perma groomer wheel for a br 400 and use 9/16 grade 8 fasteners.

Hi Don,

Thanks for the info. Will the spacing be the same as the 5 lug 5 1/2" for the 2100 and 3700

Thanks again

John

if you find an old 2100 it will have the 2 piece wheels like yours when replaced with mono rail wheels with aluminum I piece rims , you will remove the hub and the rim holds bearings and races and wont need the hub to bolt to. caution these wheels all look the same but the later model 3700' used larger bearings the shaft size was the same I just like the idea od every thing being the same. call brad at minnasota out doors on the east coast or or call mike 920 841 1902 if your are in the mid west paul at pbl enterprise's is closer to you I'm in nome it doesn't matter where I get them I get it up the back side with freight.

like I said before on the wide tracks of the sprite I would ditch the bolt on steel wheels, for the more rigid cast wheels especially in the front position. problems I experienced were cracked wheels and broken studs . I do now have a bolt on perma groomer wheel in the front position with 9/16 grade 8 bolts, using a stamped steel wheel in that position is asking for trouble. it works fine on the 601 because your track is narrower ,the sprite will have a track width from 3 to 5 feet. when the track rolls over obstacles on the out side of the track, because the front position is wrapped around half the wheel it will torque the wheel until some thing gives . that is why on later model sprites and 2100's they used the cast wheel in the #1 position than later changed to all positions.
