My kids live for trips to the lake to fish. There are places that we want to get to that I'm afraid to take our glastron fiberglas ski boat. (I'm a little paranoid about knocking holes in the hull) I'm looking for a "V" bottom wide & stable open fishing boat with trailer, a motor & other gear optional. Something decent, but also something in the price range where I won't be afraid to scrape it on a rock every now & then. Basicly a glorified rowboat is what I want. I've looked at a few locally, but they're either from the 1960's, or else too new & nice (and pricey $$). Anyone have something like this they're not using ?? Something within 200 miles from central Oh would be ideal...........Thanks..........Tom

Yep. My neighbor has one and he's within 200 miles.

But... it may be a little bigger than what you're looking for. I'll have to check but it's probably closer to 18'. It's setup for fishing. I don't know the year but it's made by Lone Star. It has an 85hp on it (and I'm thinking it's a Johnson). The boat is older but it's all been re-done and the interior and exterior are very clean.

I'll see if I can find something out tonight.
 
Try cruising around some lakes and look for a boat laying in the grass near the water. Look for the ones with the grass grown up all around. Stop in and see if they'd like to get rid of it.

Brian........I'm looking for something that would take a 30 hp motor, max. IE something for a tiller steering outboard. I have a johnson 15 right now as well as a old 6hp evinrude I inheirited from my FIL a few years ago. I also got a 10' rowboat with the motor, but it was too small & way too tippy for me, so it had to leave.
