Want to Buy:Fixer Thiokol

I want to buy a Thiokol 1404 Imp or 1450 Super Imp cat. I'm a 23 year old mechanically inclined guy who is really interested in old Thiokols. I have done the snowmobile thing but it really hasn't been my scene. Would like a small cat with good PSI for going ski touring with a few friends, so I'm not dead set on an IMP. It just seems to be the best in terms of affordability and ease of working on. Don't really care if it has a cab or a flatbed.

I'm looking for a machine that is in decent shape that maybe has cosmetic issues, rust, needs a new engine or needs to be put back together? Some assembly required is ok.

Oc-12, OC-4 doesn't matter. Blown engine or Tranmission is ok too.

I know these things are super expensive when rebuilt or restored, but there has to be somebody out there who has a project cat floating around that needs someone who will pay attention to it. Take pity on a young guy jonesing for a Thiokol!

You should have posted earlier, I have a 1450 super Imp wide track that we just
Paid to have hauled from Wa. To Minnesota no engine or trans full cab we do plan on repowering it and going through everything. But I would have sold in WA. For cheap

Oh man! That's exactly what I was looking for... I'm keeping my eyes open, but if anyone hears about a cat let me know!

I think Silas wants almost $10,000 for his cat, which is out of my price range.

I think the family that bought my old 1402 IMP might be willing to sell . I posted it on the fourm . Sweet cabin ride with six chairs winch front or rear ran great when I sold it . want his # ?

Don, I have a 4bt cummins i am also considering selling . :whistling:
i have about spent my snow cat wadd hear this summer i would have a hard time justifying it to the wife what do you want for the 4b as i have many other projects that it would work well in mainly a toyota land cruiser

I see them on craigslist and also government auctions. There are sprytes listed lower as was said above. DOnt know how much of a project you are looking for. I bought mine from a electric
coop, which may also be a good place to start looking.

I have been sitting on this one for awhile. It belongs to a friend of mine in Ethel Washington. Yep! It's close to you. It's needing alot. It's definatly a project. There are some extra parts, the motor is supposed to have been rebuilt some years ago. The rear end is out of a Weasle. Here are some pics of the machine. We had just talked about it a few days ago. I told him I would post it for him here. He is to busy to do anything with it. Someone needs to restore it. He has 2000.00 in it and would like to have that for it. I can hook you guys up. Let me know.

Hi, have 3 Thiokol sprytes for sale.2 B's models and one C model, the see mainly needs a bed and a little cosmetic work and the 2 B's need a quite a bit more, one lite rebuild and one is a heavy rebuild, give me a call and we can talk and I can send you pictures.I don't have much time to look on forum. 970-270-8771 were in Colorado

Tomelroy.....tell me about those Imp grousers...I need 20 or so wheel guides only and I can make some more grousers for my Thiokol 1301...I need 26" overall length...I'm driving from Grand Junction to Sandpoint next week with BALTO and can stop in
cheers

i have belting and light weight steel grousers, no wheel guides. what i have was to replace a worn set of aluminum grousers (with good guides). Will sell the lot, not individually.

I have a LMC-1500 wide track machine equipped with the AMC 258 6 cylinder engine, 2 man cab flatbed with 8 way blade on the machine.

It is in need of some mechanical mostly cosmetic repairs, I just removed the holley carb from the unit and fitted a nice Motorcraft 2100 2bbl carb, it runs strong and shifts good, it is not pretty, it would make a great little machine with proper repairs.

Price, asking 10K, if you are seriously interested shoot me an offer, I have not listed as i plan on doing more work on the cat prior to selling.
