I called around today locally trying to find a variator belt for a Snow Trac, with no luck. It was equipted with a Varistar 2926V646. In an old thread It suggests that this is also a Gates and Dayco as well as a Goodyear part number. Napa handles Gates, and they say they don't list it. Motor parts sells Dayco, and they don't list it either. Any idea's were I can get one FAST....Big plans for the weekend.

Best regards, Kirk

i got mine from a belt distributor out of california cost me about 75 bucks landed here i think if you research threads from last year i gave the name of the company

Try an equipment service company or a hydraulic shop. They may have older books and can cross reference the part number. Most auto parts stores change out their books ever so often and the new books don't have the less purchased parts listed.

Here is the number for a matching Dayco belt. This number was good about 2 years ago.
2926 V 646. I was able to get it through a local supplier, who I believe ordered it directly from Dayco in Chicago. Hope this helps.

Hello there, I see that most of you are in the US, but I am in Italy and have the same problem... need a belt (at moment what is on is a Roulunds 7480). Any idea of where to find parts in Europe? I remember seeing a post some time ago of someone selling parts out of Sweden? Thank You,

boscardi,

I found one in the state of Ohio at an industral supply house. They do not carry any automotive belts, and the auto parts stores can not carry the industrial line of Gates belts....So in Europe suppose they do the same thing? I would check with a supplier of industrial goods......not an auto shop. Machine tools and many industral machines have variable speed belt drives. Give it a try.....

Regards, Kirk

The Gates belt works very well. It completely took care of left turning issues I had. I would recommend it to any Snow Trac owner.

Regards, Kirk

Good deal,Kirt It may loosen some after it breaks in because of the angle differnces.
Now you can tour the lake in both directions.

Wrong kind of belts spammer.....isn't this amazing, what search engines can do, but sometimes they are confusing as we see here....This time the spammer is confused, and got it wrong!!!

Through Gates industrial suppliers only...

2926V646

Gates, Dayco and Varistar all use the same one...

Regards, Kirk

jim check with kevin hamblin at westerc cascade there in washington he turned me on to a supplyer in your aera

I purchased four of them about 6 years ago from a place in Nebraska. Interestingly enough, these are used on some older combines.
If you can't find one, I have plenty of spares. I could part with one if necessary.

call any Motion Industries, 500+ in the states, we are a Gates distributor, yes I work for them. If you cannot find one, message me back. I'll find one. ED

Any clues as to where I can find them in the UK, I need one at least for the military snowtrac which I am working on at present? The other one could do with one, it is ok at present, but not brilliant.
