Urgent help needed!

REDDOGTWO

Unemployed Veg. Peddler
Just purchased three water heaters for the chickens yesterday. Opened them up tonight and started reading the instructions.

It states do not use around water.

Water good is a water heater that is not supposed to be used around water?

First line of instructions states that it is an indoor product. The box says outdoor use only in a dry covered area.

Very confusing instructions.

I an putting a metal container of water on the device and using it indoors.

What else would you recommend?

Mine have an old heavy cast aluminum cookpot that I built a box around. i recessed the pot down in it and have a heat tape stapled lightly with electrical staples to the sides of the box. Been working great for 4 years now no matter how cold it is. It is inside the barn on the concrete floor.

Your water heaters are fine, REDDOG.

Just set them up off the ground/slab on a shallow platform (a couple concrete blocks will do) and, if outdoors, sheltered from the rain (a 2X2 plywood shanty will do).

In other words, just keep 'em dry.

Think Kane hit it on the proverbial "head" there. Keep em dry/sheltered/ and I do believe they will be ok. If you have further doubts, contact mfg via email. Backspeak is a great way of relieving financial responsibility. LOL

God bless,
Tony
