Ultimate Tracked Personnel carrier (summer/winter)

Fellas...

I've got a customer with a request for an ultimate Tracked personnel carrier.

It got to be able to carry 6-10 people, size is of no issue as well as its fuel efficiency.

I guess 2 tracks would be necessary, since will be used in Russian Tundra in the summer in the marshes and mud/wet terrain, as well as some wider powder snow tracks do be able to handle any snow conditions.

Plow is not a must, but would be good.

So whats good in the market for an ultimate ALL-Season cat?

Don't know, I have no personal experience with them. But others here do!

Piston Bully 100 All Season Cat:

Order the accessory cab that appears to be available from Piston Bully, see if winter tracks are also available or can be fabricated and then you would have the best of two machines in one.

contact Paul at pbl enterprises 18007800470 he is the us ohara dealer ther caliber has both a rubber all terrain track and a metal grouser track Brad at mn out doors could likely put together something on a small nodwell chassis, but I have found the full rubber tracks and hydro drives work best on tundra .Go tracked also makes some full rubber carriers Remember where I live Nick I have a lot of experience with those kinds of conditions the bv 206 platform also seems to work well in these conditions but you have to have some real deep pockets to keep one going.

I am going to just skip right past everything everyone else has written and say one thing . If the racks are not Tundra tracks it wont matter what you buy or how much you spend you will either be breaking things or get stuck. Make sure you have the right track for the job really gos without saying but i'm not sure what your experience level is.

Amphibian. M116 $19,000

M116 Huskey gets my vote. Small block Chevy auto trans andd it can spot turn sort of.... If you aren't wanting new.. They float and weigh about 10K lbs. Made of Aluminum and built stout. Must have cost the tax payers big $$$ to build.

The Pontiac-built M76 Otter, it is fully amphb, has a propeller that drops down in the back for doing about 9 knots on water and can operate in swamps and on deep snow. Down side is they were built in about 1952-3. I had one that I restored about thirty years ago, and there are some now that are in good shape if you can find one.

But they were outstanding for what you are discribing you want to do, just a bit old for realistic use nowadays.

I love the otters and huskies both are older and rare as hens teeth parts can be more of a challenge to get. on the tundra I have found rubber tracks and hydro drive work best rigs like nodwells with a brake type steering can be hard on vegetation creating a mud bog in short order. nodwell with their flat grousers work much better at soil preservation that d-dent grousers, but the metal grousers are still prone to breaking in the rocks or on the large frozen tussocks ( pc word for what we call tundra locally). the full rubber type tracks work best over all with the exception they can plug up in deep sticky mud the trade off is reliability and the preservation of your trail. I spend hunderds of hours every summer out on the tundra.

I love ...

Lets put it this way - customer is pretty unlimited on the spending budget, thus machine needs to be "new" so to speak and be worthwhile the investment, as well as worth the trouble of shipping it to Eastern Russia.

I've suggested Hugglands as well...

Take a trip south to medford (Oregon) . look at tucker. A lot of farmers here are buying them for crop spray / access duties. They have "mud" tracks available and optional gearing. expensive whether dollars, rubles or diamonds, but long history of support, and custom builds.
