Which is on more in your house?

I never turn off my computer but it automatically goes to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity. So for this poll that is considered the same as off.

Is a TV on (any where in the house) or your computer on most?

PC is on all day....i seem to be using it more and more of late for work reasons...pricing up emailing quotes ect.....plus i use it as a multi media centre.

TV is on only evenings to be honest.....even then i rarely watch it.

We have a tv in the kitchen and I have 1 in my shop that stays on 24/7 on the country music video channel mainly for background noise , we watch very little tv ussually . Computers on from from 4 am till 6 pm ussually mainlt for email , searching Craigslist and keeping up with here .

Computer mostly. The new fangled Goverment DTV program took TV mostly away from me. I used to get all of the local channels and now if the weather is just right I might get a channel if I am lucky. I had my wife stand by the window and hold the antenna the other night so I could watch American Idol.

I had the same problem untill I installed these on our tv's . You still have to search every few weeks cuz they keep adding more channels , at least around here .

I have Freesat.....i think this is more of a UK/Euro thing so you will not have heard of it.

Does the wife shout over weather updates whilst at the window:yum::yum::yum::yum:

I answered both but in all honesty it's the PC. Everywhere I sit there is a PC in reach. Can't say that about a TV. I was thinking about when I sit at home in the living room, I always have a laptop in front of me watching TV. AFA a PC, work is a no brainer and I'm in the shop right now answering this now and there are no TV's at work or in the shop.

I have a PC and a Laptop plugged in and running constantly... I put them 'to sleep' at night, and once a week I restart them both, because I've been told that constant sleep mode can cause problems.

Mostly, during the day they are set for online service (I have unlimited usage with my server), but I never leave them online at night, except for once a week when they are set to do their weekly security scans. I use the computers for playing music also, mostly...

When I am not out of town, or out of the country, I use the computers a lot for work.

I rarely have the TV's on, generally only if there is something specific that I want to watch, and I don't know why I have a TV in my bedroom, because its probably only ever been turned on, at the most, twice since I bought it, for short periods.

So, the computers are on probably 70% more than TV...

Lia you mention out of town ect....do you ever go north of London??? if you do myself and my wife are a open house to you....google Stevenage in hertfordshire and if your ever near by be sure to let me know and pop in.

At home, I'm normally sitting in the living room with the laptop on my lap and the tv on in the background. The tv is usually playing cartoons for my son in the background. So generally, when I'm home, both the tv and computer are on for the same amount of time.

How do you turn either one off? Mine are always on 24/7 .

Most likely you are joking, but last time I visited my dad I made the mistake of turning off the TV when I went to bed. He actually got up and turned it back on because he couldn't sleep.

Both on 24/7
I don't get digital over the air signals, or cable or satellite on my TV. But it is on 24/7. It is hooked up in the living room to a custom built "media center" that runs Win XP. When sitting on the couch, i have a wireless mouse and keyboard on the coffee table to control it. What good is that? Well, it is also networked to the other 3 computers in the house. So, you can access the 5 TB's of movies and TV shows stored. When it sits idle a nice screen saver kicks in.

Usually there is a TV set on whenever we're awake. Right now, there's two on. My computer stays on for days. The wife's laptop gets shut down every night and restarted first thing in the morning.

TV is only turned on at most once or twice a week so SWMBO can play a workout video or we can watch a DVD.

Both.
The telly stays on all the time because when I am not home, I leave it on for Gretchen so she can have some company.
When I go to work, I put on Animal Planet for her.
When I am home all day, I usually have Fox News or a local NBC station or a movie channel running.
The computer is on all the time, except for when I reboot after running Advanced System Care, Malwarebytes, and a C drive disk clean each and every day.

The TV is on most of the time when I'm on the computer, but I also have a TV in the bedroom and I do watch it before going to sleep, so the TV is on more in my house. Been leaving the TV off more when I am working on the computer and I find I do not miss it (so I'm closer to being a both or computer is on more, but not there yet). That is what made me wonder what you all do. Thanks for answering and expanding in a post. :thumb:

I watch the news and sports. Occasssionally history or some other channel, but my wife wants me to hang out with her while she watches TV, bores me crazy unless I read or mod or chat on a forum. But she watches TV quite a bit.
