Tucker Track Rollers and Sprocket Teeth

For anyone looking for track roller parts or sprocket teeth for your steel tracked Tucker you may want to contact Bill at Cook's Equipment.

http://www.cooksequipment.com/http://cooksequipment.com

If you get the parts from Bill you should be able to rebuild your track rollers for ~$10.00 per roller.
I have no affiliation with Cook's Equipment, I just wanted to share this information for folks who are in need of parts.

Odd, I talked to Bill yesterday about rollers and he had no suggestions other than buying his reproduction units at $45 each.. I was not surprised at the price, but would like to rebuild my rebuild-able rollers if possible.

I also called Snotrans today with no luck at all.

anyone have any leads on rollers or rebuilding them?

thanks.
Eric

That is disturbing news to me as well, since I am going to be needing to rebuild some track rollers in the near future.:ermm:
Please post if you find a source for the components to rebuild the rollers.

There are a couple of guys on here that are doing the rollers, but the track segments are grey cast so nobody is doing replacements (yet) that I know of...

Sprockets are a whole issue within themselves.

Thanks,

That's the "original" Tucker board.. As far as I can tell, all the people claiming to start production are just fishing. Have not seen any posts in the last year with actual new rollers for sale.

track sections, especially the 18", are easy to find.

bill at cooks equipment has new teeth available.....quite a job though. you have to grind all the old ones out and reweld in the new. good luck dave

Unfortunately some rollers are rebuildable , most are not. The older smaller rollers seem to be the ones that might be able to be rebuilt. The later ones seem to be non rebuildable. No matter what, if you have heavy taper wear, you are wasting money on your rebuild. Welsh plugs pop out at this stage so the roller becomes useless after about a hour or so. From experience, if the O.D. of your rollers is to small, your pin rollers will skip on the sprocket under heavy load or steep grades. If the flange is to worn, your rollers will wear on the leading and trailing edges of your pontoons on turns. I saw a posting not to long ago where someone bought a new roller and it would not pass through the upper track guides. Sounds like someone had a skipping problem due to reduced roller diameter and modified the upper track guide. Be very careful with this mod as roller diameters vary and if you make the guide to tight you will break something on the first revolution. I hope this info helps. Best regards.
