Tucker Sno-cat Insurance

Wondering how you folks insure these vehicles, or if you can or do. I thought Hagerty might be an option, but seems “no”. Riders?

Unrelated (?) looking to protect a Sno-cat as a dedicated garage is being built. Small RV cover? Framed covered “portable” garage-one company says-“Remove cover to prevent wind damage”. Wow. Just WOW. Thanks

I tried insuring it, but my auto insurance does not want to insure something that old and my house insurance only insured 'tractors' up to 25 hp.
(note: I am talking about a Bombardier J5 ... not exactly a Sno-Cat. Sorry if it is not relevant).

I personally break it periodically while using it, so I wouldn't insure it against damage. I hope there is a very limited number of people who would want to steal it since there is limited people who'd want to buy a 60-year old machine. I hope I am deep enough in the wood so that nobody will come and do vandalism.

I checked on this as well. I was only interested in liability. I found out from my carrier and the umbrella folks that liability for equipment (I'm on a ranch with lots of equipment) is not about a location. So I am covered for liability out in the woods. However, from my research, I was told that there is no insurance specifically for snowcats. Now, perhaps, if one has a company that does snowcat services that it is likely that some insurance is available... due to a business. For example, I have an excavator but the insurance is liability only.

At any rate, that is what I found out. One thing I did not do was to contact a company like Piston Bully. A good friend of mine has a son that is one of the VPs at PB. I should ask him!
