They called these ME-models for mid engine. Look a bit long!! Almost bought one with a bad engine. They are just a different looking tucker!! Possibly the same main frame with a different cab, engine, deck configuration.
Like how bombardier took SV-252 and BR60's had the same platform just the cab at different ends.

the cab on those me tuckers is god awful ugly for shur but I like the idea of the mid engine gives you some cargo space and with the cab forward of the power plant it should be reasonably quiet. I understand tucker did it this way for better weight distribution but quiet is always good to.

There was one of these for sale a few years ago with a modified cab setup. The seller referred to it as a "mother-in-law cab" as it was in place of the cargo bed and was separated by several feet from the front cab.

Also a few years ago there was a forum member (Swampcruiser?) who had taken a mid-1960's Chevy van body and used that along with taking a section out of the Tucker frame. It looked pretty darn cool and was very functional for his family.

This definitely not my favorite style of Tucker. Never know who does love them tho so I just went ahead and posted it.

While I was searching I did actually see a 4 door pickup body on a Tucker frame but I wasn't gonna post that. lol

Here's a 1984 Model 2642C ME we sold Last spring, Ok machine, think it had 84 grease fittings on it, vibrated like crazy. Had a Chrysler 440 big block that used 8 gallons/hr when grooming!

I'm not sure what size Mogul Master you were pulling but it looks like a 18-10. That is what I pull with my PB260D and it is a lot of steel. Looks like that Tucker was doing just fine and I'm not surprised at the 8 gallons per hour. I was up around 9 gph until I backed out of the throttle from 2100 to 1700/1800 rpm. Now I am getting around 6 gpm with the Cummins.

Swamp Cruzier's Tucker was a little smaller with only 5 bogies per track which made it a better fit and look for his conversion. These others are loooong for sure.

No not at all, have hundreds of hours working on, and driving the Tucker ME, Engine, transfer cases, axles, wheels, anything you have questions about, fire away. Will say, this machine with the long wheel base would go places our PB150 and PB260 couldn't. We pulled a MM 18-08 11 blade Drag on a very Hilly trail system. I'm sure it would of got better millage on flatter ground:wink:

I like the design where the blade pivots from the front axle. This eliminates the force going threw the fifth wheel pivot points and the forces going from the axle threw the springs, shackles and spring bolts too. Seems like the front axle is doing at least half of the pushing to the blade. $. 02.

Just so I understand, do you mean you prefer the blade mounted directly to the frame and have its own pivot function regardless of which way you steer the machine?

on a Tucker, the blade has to shift with the tracks so it has to mount to the axle, or at least to the turn table - there is no way to brace it back to the frame and still be able to steer the cat
