Tucker Hand Brake Cable

Track Addict

Anyone know what to look up for a new cable for the hand brake, source, or part number?

Mine works fine but the rubber sheathing is worn or rotted away. Other option is to re-wrap it with something

1) Call Tucker?
2) Heat Shrink
3) There are specialty shops that make custom control cables, mostly for Motorcycles. They advertise in things like Hemmings Motor News
Snow Trac's E-Brake cables were not standard VW brake cables. You can usually buy the housing and cable, where it gets tricky is if it has swedged or cast led ends,... I bought VW Bus cables, cut the threaded adjuster off, used copper tubing for housing, and used an aftermarket kit made for dune buggies for the ends. But the specialty shops that make motorcycle cables provide much nicer ones with greese zerks.

The thin light stuff, in various colors, comes on a roll.
The heavy, or 'thick' stuff comes in one meter lengths. The heavy comes clear up to 3 inch diameter, but it's spendy. How long a piece do you need?

On both the 544 & the 1644 the E-brake cable is fairly long. It is run some circuitous route. If one meter will do I'll send you a piece.(39.37 in)
