Aww...their feelings are hurt and they go home and cry, now that they have to molest people. Too freakin' bad. Personally, I hope they descend into the depths of depression. If their job's so bad then they should quit and pursue a more ethical job.

Read this to see how it hurts their feelings that the public is upset about their tactics => Classically Liberal: TSA agents upset public doesn't like fondling.

As an added feature...a young boy get's strip searched in public by the TSA perverts.

Pedophiles and perverts. If TSA agent had any moral compass, they would refuse to abuse American citizens, and do it en masse. I could not do this to my fellow man and call myself a patriot. Does anyone know if Obama gave the exemption to his Muslim brethren in traditional garb? Fucking terrorists have more rights than Americans do. We need to march on Washington and root these chi-com and muslim loving terrorist politicians out into the street to answer for their evil ways. I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

first off i can respect the fact that tsa is working to ensure we are not a soft target just like the vc the islamist extreamist have no problem in using children to deliver their wepons of terror. but i submit when was the last time a white anglo americain hispanic or americain indian tried to blow up a plane with explosives attached to their crotch so i don't think screaning granny or some liittle boy or girl makes life safer just more politicaly correct i think bomb dogs would be a less intrusive way to screen people oh i forgot you also have to be pc and people from the middle east don't like dogs mabe they shouldn't come here if the don't want there crotch sniffed by a dog

As long as Muslim women are exempt from having their head dresses removed or Niqjab/Hiqjab (whatever) probed we are not safe. The rest is a farce and the TSA agents that perform these acts should be embarrassed of their actions.

The whole thing is an abomination.

you know i would bet most are these stupid ideas are comming from collage boys in management writing policys oh i forgot that they had to go to collage because they were born with no street smrts and had to be educated so they could hold a job other than a dishwasher the problem is that with all the good stuff the collages fee students now days they forget real life training and most of these guys have a degree in some touchy feely field any ways not security

WTF their just trying to make an honest living :whistling:

Scales & graphs at the links . Another interesting article after that .

Granted there are some fairly low paying jobs But I would guess most are making decent money as well as great benefits . I wonder how many got their jobs from other relatives or friends in other government sectors though ? Ya know one big happy family :hammer:
Pay Scales at TSA (2010)

TSA Careers
We are unique among our fellow Federal employees because we do not use the standard GS grading system you may be familiar with. We use an "SV" grading system, which is a system of discrete grades with pay ranges that differ from GS pay ranges. These discrete grades, which are identified by letters rather than numbers, have minimum and maximum rates.
In the table below, we show the ranges for each pay band.
td {padding:5px;margin:0; text-align:right;} .gr {background-color:#dddddd}Pay BandMinimumMaximumA$17,083$24,977B$19,570$28,546C$22,167$33,303D$25,518$38,277E$29,302$44,007F$33,627$50,494G$39,358$60,982H$48,007$74,390I$58,495$90,717J$71,364$110,612K$85,311$132,237L$101,962$155,500M$120,236$155,500The above rates are basic pay rates and do not include locality pay. 2010 basic pay rates are limited to $155,500. 2010 adjusted pay rates (base pay plus locality) are limited to $172,550.

Everywhere you turn the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) is getting lambasted. If it isn’t people refusing to abide by TSA directions, it’s stories of a “backlash against body scanners” because of the abusive treatment that TSA employees are doling out to travelers. People are becoming fed up with the whole edifice. But imagine how much worse this situation will get if the TSA is allowed to unionize?
Well, if Obama has his way this is exactly what will happen. Evidence his Federal Labor Relations Authority ruled last Friday that the TSA could, indeed, vote on union representation.
This decision opens the possibilities that the American Federation of Government Employees and the National Treasury Employees Union could vie to represent the 50,000 employees of the TSA.

Many TSA security officers have already joined one or another of these unions but law prohibits them from collective bargaining at this time. Perhaps early next year this new ruling will allow the TSA officers to choose which of the two unions will exclusively represent them.
So, we have TSA security officers already abusing their positions and as much as molesting travelers under color of authority. Recently a 3-year-old girl was manhandled in a TSA search at an airport. Why were they body searching a three-year-old? The TSA claims it is “the rules” that are at fault. But whether the “rules” are well formulated or not, whether the TSA agents involved were adequately trained or not, the addition of a union will make matter worse.
Imagine trying to confront TSA abuses once a union steps in to prevent any sort of management of employees at all! Plus a unionized TSA would hamper security by taking all flexibility out of the service as union rules settle in to prevent management from making needed changes to reflect a fluid security situation.
There are other dangers that a unionized TSA would present the traveling public. Every time new security rules are needed, for instance, sensitive security intelligence would have to be shared with the union possibly damaging national security.
Additionally, hundreds of those same security agents would be removed from their security positions and turned into union reps and contract negotiators taking experienced officers from the necessary work of security. Once a union is formed these union staff positions will be filled by TSA employees.
Also, TSA managers would no longer be able to reward screeners and security officers for high performance on the job as union rules would prevent merit raises and recognition. This will bring down the level of competence in the TSA just when complaints that the service is already performing badly are growing.
TSA employees should not be allowed to unionize. Collective bargaining will make our airports less responsive to a changing security situation, less safe, and far less friendly to travelers.

How about Obama send his kids thru TSA to be strip searched and humiliated like the rest of Americans are humiliated? Oh, I forgot, he's Kenyan/muslim, not American, so they are exempt.

This whole business is just plain ol' bullshit.

We travelled to the UK this spring. My wife and I both flew a lot when we were working. Together, we've probably clocked up more air miles than some of the pilots flying the friggin' planes. When I went through security this spring, I had to endure the "take your shoes off, remove your belt, start your laptop routine, etc., etc." They confiscated a micro leatherman multi-tool that has been on my keychain for a long, long time. Fair enough, it had a 1" blade on it but what makes the whole thing ironic, is that when we took off, the stewardess came round and handed me a white cloth napkin and rolled up in that white cloth napkin was 3, I said 3 metal freekin' knives. Now where's the sense in that.

It's not just the American TSA but their British equivalent is every bit as bad. They pounced upon a pair of blunt nosed, 1" long scissors, in my toilet bag. Now, I've had those scissors for about 20 years and I guarantee that they've spent more time on aeroplanes than the dickhead who confiscated them. Again when the plane takes off, I get handed the same ol' white napkin containing 3 metal knives. It sure makes you wonder WTF is going on. It's almost as if they are saying, "You can't highjack the plane using your own tools, here we'll give you a better set". There's no logic to it at all.

It isn't the TSA people at the checkpoint you need to be pissed at, it is the people that come up with these lame rules they are required to enforce.

In Washington DC, you have these clowns that are bypassing what it takes a Judge to issue to inspect a suspected criminal.

Until people start pointing their aggression at the clowns at the top of the stairs, nothing is going to change. They took an oath to enforce the Constitution and yet they openly ignore it.

The Israeli's are the most attacked people in the world per capita, and they don't use anywhere near the "Inspections" programs the U.S. uses and they have almost zero problems. They "Profile", meaning they look for people that look out of place, look nervous or look like someone that shouldn't be there...

And this crap about the people that brought us 9/11 don't have to have their women be inspected is just a load of bull, and again, that comes from Washington by direction, and is approved by Obama himself.

He's probably committed high crimes or even treason that he could be convicted of. Where's that lawyer that was picking on my lack of knowledge of the law before? WTF can we nail on this terrorist in the White House and his minions?

I disagree with the "just following orders" line of thinking.

Personally, if I was on the job and my boss or company policy dictated that I needed to do something I object to, I would first go to the boss to voice this issue and if I got nowhere with that I'd be gone.

I have to live with myself and no job is worth bypassing your personal standards of morality.

These TSA people, from the lowest agent at the airport to the director, are power-hungry control freaks. Have you ever spoken with one? I have. I spend (spent - won't commercial fly until this is over) a lot of time at airports traveling. I have found every one that I have ever spoken to to be arrogant and condescending to the "unwashed masses" that they interact with.

First, I am not defending the TSA or any part of it.

Second, I am curious about the statement that Muslim women do not have to have their headscarf inspected. I read what was posted here and I saw nothing that specifically granted an exception to Muslim women. From what I read any woman, or man for that matter could follow the same procedure.

Third, I truly believe that the folks making the regulations are trying to make the planes safer. I also believe that the terrorists do not care who they use to spread their fear. Part of the problem is that the end enforcement of the regulations is handed down to a low paid minion that is not properly mentally balanced or qualified to do the job at hand. In support if this, I offer the instance of TSA agents attacking each other after being kidded by fellow workers about the size of their genitalia. The question remains, how then, do we insure that a plane is safe? They have surgically implanted explosives in dogs for crying out loud. They have convinced small children to self detonate. These are obviously unprincipled people that care nothing for life.

I read all that I can find about people complaining about the searches, deservedly so. I have read nothing that offers a better solution. I have posted a couple times saying that we need to make it hit home to the planners of these acts that they themselves and their families are in jeopardy. I really do not believe that they would plan so much terror if they lost people near and dear to them.

Finally, I absolutely agree that if lawmakers and everyone else were to have to endure the searches things would change.

Good post Andy. I have questions also, but have found no answers. Are they searching folks in muslim garb the same as everyone else? If not the whole process might as well be tossed out.

If what we are doing is preventing planes from exploding in the skies why haven't we seen or heard of any terrorist act in the sky's of some of our allies? Other nations fly just as we do, I would think they would also be targets ...good targets to practice on before coming here. Yet I have not heard of any such attacks.

It does indeed appear as if we've gone off the deep end.

We tell our children that it is wrong for strangers to touch them in certain places.

How do you tell a three year old it's ok if the Tsai does it?

In a couple of recent developments:

Bohner was walked around screeners while flying commercial. Steele said he was being treated just like the rest of us.

Hillary said she would not do it.

Will Pelosi have to endure the humiliation of TSA??? I'll bet not. Bawny Fwank is in favor of these intrusive measures, and likes the procto search.
