Trying to "make it right"

Hey crew,
I've been reading all the post the last week but haven't had much to say. Today, it's been 3 weeks since my last cigarette and I was kinda itchin' for one, so instead, I decided to redo the electrical in my SW. See the before and after pics. My hero, Mike Holmes says "if you're gonna do something, do it right the first time!" so that's what I did! So first pic is what it looked like behind the dash, second pic is without the dash (remembered to label all wires) and the third is the complete rewire of the dash, just before bed time. Will reinstall dash Friday 'cause I'm tired. Everyone, keep posting with pics, it's a great read (and laugh sometimes :w00t2:)

NICE JOB ! I love it when you can look back at the end of a day and see that you actually accomplished something . Enjoy your rest !

You're an inspiration. Attached is a picture of my current wiring mess. :w00t2: I got the machine running and haven't neatened up the wires. I guess while my radiator is in the repair shop would be a good time to attack this nightmare.

Nice job !!!

Both the not smoking and the wiring !!

I need to do more wiring work on my Skidozer...... Still some melted wires hiding back there.....

Thanks all for the support on the non-smoking part of the message. And thanks to all the master fabricators out there who inspired me to make this little Bombardier plow better than it ever was. I don't know if you noticed in the first picture, there were at least 2 of the meters not hooked up and were not indicating a) fuel and b) voltage. I'm not sure if the hours meter was running or not, didn't even mark down the hours. Now everything works (and BTW, don't know if this was standard, but it wasn't an ammeter on the dash, it was a voltmeter) plus an added bonus, put in a RPM meter. I also found some nice conduit (full of ice) between the dash and the motor compartment, cleaned it all out and ran 12 X 12AWG just in case I needed to add something. Ran 4 X 12AWG to thru the frame (holes were factory done, flared and all) for the top lights and "winky dink" My only worry now is the tube for the oil pressure, kinda got ripped out the back of the meter and even with the sleeve back on the tube, it leaks a little. I think they may have some solution for that at NAPA??? So, all ready for the crap that's supposed to fall on us (North-Eastern USA and Eastern Canada) Snow-ice-rain-ice-snow:mellow: New pics show progress and complete dash. First pic shows all meters running, wires not wrapped yet. Second, just finishing up the last grounding and troubleshooting the lights. Third, new dash installed (notice all the meters working, engine was running). Thanks again to all for making this such a great place to visit everyday:biggrin:.
