Former Amalgamated Transit Union local 689 president Mike Golash, now an “Occupy” movement organizer, was caught on tape Sunday revealing his political goals: overthrowing capitalism in the United States and instituting a communist government.

“Progressive labor is a revolutionary communist organization, its objective,” he added, “is to make revolution in the United States, overthrow the capitalist system and build communism.” Golash said during an Occupy DC “People’s Assembly” on August 19.

Golash said they are “trying to learn something from the historical revolutions of the past: the Russian revolution, the Chinese revolution, the revolutions in Cuba and Eastern Europe. What can we learn from them so we can build a more successful movement to transform capitalist society? An organization has to be built which can bring down capitalism.”

“The capitalists — they have their organizations: the FBI, the CIA, the secret police, the military, the army, etc., etc. They have organizations to maintain their power. It’s foolish to think that without a disciplined organization made up not of a few people but of millions and millions of people, [we] can bring down capitalism.”

Golash recently retired from his job as a public transit bus driver. The ATU local 689, which he used to lead, bills itself as the third-largest union local in North America.

With those qualifications, the man could be president.

No one should really be surprised over this. I keep hearing all this rhetoric about how all liberals are not anti capitalist, all liberals are not all violent, all liberals are not anti gun and all liberals are not all pro choice. True of course, yet they continue to support those that are, either through the ballot box or other means.

BINGO

The Democrats I know do not claim to be "liberals" and in many ways oppose many of the policies of the "liberals" but they still vote party line. And the party was taken over by liberals over the past 20 years and the moderate Democrats can't see what is happening because their own party lies to them.

Take a look at Illinois and its budget problems. Gov. Quinn called a "Special Session" of the House to order to tackle the "pension problem" that is bankrupting the state. (Illinois is in WORSE fiscal shape than California). Speaker of the House Mike Maddigan chose NOT to deal with the HUGE teacher's pension. He chose NOT to deal with the HUGE municipal workers' pensions. What he chose to allow to be brought up was the pension of the members of the HOUSE.

How much of a problem is that for the state budget? About 0.3%. And what happened? Well actually nothing because the Senate was NOT in session so anything coming out of the House was dead anyway :hammer:

This was all SMOKE AND MIRRORS so that the members, who are all up for re-election in a couple months, could go back and tell their UNINFORMED constituents that they voted to cut their own benefits :whistling:

Want to bet how many get re-elected?

Well, it seems that the one thing that they don't want to learn is that they all failed. Never mind, let them keep on making the same mistakes and expecting a different result. Where has this twat been for the last 50 years?

Golash doesn't provide any dates for a time frame, so I guess we must give him the benefit of the doubt that the Cuban revolution was successful. On the other hand, Cuba under Castro has been such a wonderful place to live since then ... I can see why he'd like to emulate that success.

A fundimental mistake of logic here.

Without capitalist, unions have no purpose.

With whom would they bargain for wages?

If unions ran corporations, they could no longer vilify the CEO for his corporate jet, big pensions, big paychecks, and fine lifestayles. They would have to turn, face the membership,,,,,and explain their own.

What idiots.
