Trump Picks Pam Bondi for AG

Yeah, either her or Matt Whitaker. Whitaker was picked for Ambassador to NATO. Either one a great pick.

I remember 8 years ago when Trump picked Sleepy Sessions as AG. Seems we've come a long way since then.
In 2016 Trump was trying to work with the powers that be in DC. They betrayed him, the party, and the country.

This time, with his mandate and DC experiences, it is his way or the highway.

I agree. He was a presidential rookie back then, but now he'll be a presidential veteran. He's like the rest of us: Fed up with the swampy BS, and ready to kick down the doors.

Once again, Like Bob Cuban warned, The Donald surrounds himself with another blond bimbo!
(Sarcasm)

Personally, I thought he would have chosen her in the first place.
Is it possible that Gaetz was such a shock to the system that anyone who is a firm loyalist that is nominated AFTER Gaetz will get an easy path into his Cabinet and other top positions?

Gaetz actually won his election for his district. He resigned from THIS session on Congress. He can still return to the NEXT session, without a special election, because he WON his re-election campaign.

Her record on 2a is not good, if she gets confirmed I hope she changes her tune, and the atf is either shut down or at least get a pro 2a leader like Gaetz would have been
I believe Gaetz would have been a good AG if confirmed. But he did have vulnerabilities that would have hampered is effectiveness. And a lack of Law practice history.
I believe he was a flash grenade President Trump threw into the Senate to get a reaction or possibly divert their attention from his other picks.

By contrast, Pam Bondi is a seasoned, and proven, warrior in the practice of law. She will be effective. Likely more so.

And has an abysmal record on 2a ( a quote when she was defending red flag laws and adults under 21) we need to negotiate with the other side do get things done. I don’t want my constitutionally protected rights bargained away to get something done you ?

I have no idea of what you are talking.

Please, elaborate

Here you go
I WOULD RESPECTFULLY DISSAGREE.

Pam Bondi was the AG of the State of Florida. Her position on the law in that interview was to explain it. I am very pro 2nd A but I had very little trouble with her explanation of the law as created by the legislature. And why. Red flag laws, properly written and enforced, which have legal recourses, are reasonable.

Yes it is a thin line and we must be careful not to infringe on the God given rights of responsible citizens. This is true of any law our legislatures create. It is why we have the document of our agreed partnership with each other called, the Constitution.

All that said;
There are people, citizens of the USA, who simply should not have unfettered access to guns. Whilst the Constitution has literally only one paragraph, actually a single sentence about infringement of the right to bear arms, it does not take into account, reasonable exceptions.
For example, someone who has been convicted of armed robbery. Should citizens be expected to trust that proven felon will not repeat bad judgement and have to live with such an armed person in their midst. Because the words "shall not be infringed" exist in that relationship.

Do we not prohibit pedophiles from teaching kids in public schools?
or 12-year-olds from flying airplanes? Something about which the Constitution says nothing.

I’m not endorsing nor condemning the information contained in the Interview just simply sharing information. I’m not sure she’s anti-second amendment but I’m not sure she’s pro second amendment just gathering information and sharing.

I'm not sure either so, I agree with you.
That said
Pam Bondi will be too occupied with dismantling the current office of Attorney General for us to worry about her reputation on 2A. She has only two years to rebuild and repurpose the National AG office from one that persecutes political enemies to one representing "we the people" and refocuses on actual crime.
