Some large chopper with a bright spot light has been hovering near my pasture the last two nights. i suspect some kind of rescue tranning.
It's on power company property ,anyway yesterday I noticed the elk all moved out.I had 17 with some new calves . Small price maybe for saving someones life. I have seen a sherriff chopper with a hoist on it fly over at times. Kind of the same size of the small ones that were used to draw fire .Must be the same one.

You have your tin foil hat handy don't you?:whistling: They may be doing infrared training or looking for a high voltage leak on the lines. They fly the gas lines around here all the time. They look for anyone excavating or building near the ROW. Then you get a visit in person real quick. My one neighbor had a visit 2 years ago when he was building his pond. That was at least 500ft. away from the line.
 
I do have a large 3 wire transmision power line going across part of my place. It comes from one of the columbia river dams. Bonneville Power has never bothered me.
I talked to indain from the nearby tribe today and it was the sherriff training.
