Tragedy In Ohio

OhioTC18

Gone But Not Forgotten
Back on April 1, 2006, Brian Shaffer, a Med student at The Ohio State University disappeared without a trace. He was seen on security tapes entering a popular campus bar and never leaving. No one has heard anything from him since. His biggest supporter in leading searches for him was his Dad, Randy Shaffer an Electrician with Mid City Electric in Columbus, Ohio. His co-workers became concerned when Randy didn't show up for work Monday. As someone was going out to check on Randy, crews who were cleaning debris found his body. He was killed by a fallen tree limb in his yard from the wind storm we had yesterday.

Randy led a very vocal and extensive search for his son since his disappearance and became an advocate for many families.

He will be missed by many in this town, myself included. I enjoyed a good working relationship with him over the many years I have known him.

Sorry to hear that Jerry. My condolences.

My daughter was telling me much of Columbus is without power. Lots of trees down, and they are saying 3 to 8 days before all power is restored. We had high winds, but not near as bad as you guys in Columbus.

My condolences also.
I've had co-workers commit suicide, and get killed in wrecks, etc. It hurts, even if you didn't know them very good.
Hopefully, someone will pick / keep up the search, and find the boy.
