Tracking gas prices

I filled up two days ago. Gas was 4.29 per gallon that day. Every station I drove by in our area had that price.

Yesterday it went up to 4.41 per gallon. By far a new high for my area. I strongly suspect price fixing is going on.

MSM saying national average is at 3.98 or 3.99. We are normally 15 or 20 cents below the reported national average.

Yesterday the price of oil dropped 10 dollars. I wonder if gas prices will drop much here. I have my doubts. :(

How much is gas in your town?

Wow you guys are high! We're anywhere from $3.80-$3.90. But gas prices are only allowed to be raised once a week in New Jersey, so by next week we'll probably be over $4.00.

On Wed, 5/4, unleaded $3.67 and diesel $3.87. That was at Murphey and Conoco. Other places are > $0.20 higher.

3.98-4.03 in Pa. and 4.12 - 4.22 in NY. Diesel has remained at 4.29 for a month now in Pa.

I check with www.gasbuddy.com. people sign up and report low and high prices. It helps some. From gasbufdy you branch out to your state and maybe your local. Join up and help out.

I use diesel and it is about 4.05 in NJ.

Our local Dandy mart dropped the price to $3.92 this morning. It was $3.95 when I dumped $95 in the suburban on Thursday. :hammer:The other town is still at $3.99 in Pa. this morning.

I had to gas up the truck yesterday ...didn't fill it up in hopes of cheaper prices soon to come. It was 4.19 yesterday. Today the same station is 4.09. There is HOPE.

$4.51 for regular in Chicago Heights, IL at the BP station (Cook County)
$4.45 for regular, $4.19 for Diesel, in Crete, IL at both the Speedway and the Marathon stations. ('suburban' Will County)
$4.39 for regular, $4.19 for Diesel, in Beecher, IL at both the Shell and the Philips 66 stations. (rural Will County)

Across the line in Indiana, Diesel seems to be $4.29 at almost every station and regular gas is right about the same price, but sometimes up to $4.35.

Did I mention lately that I'm loving the Diesel VW Jetta . . . drove about 125 miles Friday, all suburban type driving, rural roads, busy roads, stoplights, etc . . . averaged 42+ miles per gallon and still a lot of fun to drive. I'm really starting to look forward to the upcoming VW Passat TDI that will be released in the fall of this year as a 2012 model. Its bigger/nicer than my Jetta in all ways but get 1 more MPG.

I just filled up diesel $4.29  a gallon for the trip home from the mountains.
My last fill up 2 weeks ago was $4.09

Unbeliveable...

The local news says it's up 12 cents over night. No one can figure out why.....They don't seem to know there are two refineries on the banks of the Missippi river that are in danger of flooding and being closed down. I am just a dumb farmer, but I know this...You would think the Obummer would be making sure these don't flood. But he is in DC still trying to figure out if the market place is rigged. You would think the news media would be savy enough to realize the situation with these refineries. I guess they get paid, stupid or not.

Regards, Kirk

Price at the local had come down .03 but are back up this morning. In the next town in Pa. it goes from $3.92 to $4.09 in a 3 block distance. Where is the half dollar they were reporting it was supposed to drop?

There is a Shell station across the street from work. When I came into work yesterday it was $4.14 (most places on the way to work were $3.95 - 3.99). Somewhere 12:30 and 1:00 they dropped it to $3.96. I had to walk across the street to work on a problem at our branch office. Came back at 3:00. The Shell station had gone back to $4.09 and on the way home, most places had gone back to the $4.09 price :hammer: and are still there this morning.:hammer:
