Track Retraction Tool

Found this item at a garage sale: an antique Dutton-Lainson barbed wire stretcher. The company is still in business and these can be found in some hardware stores under the Goldenrod brand, usually for less than $75. We’ve done a basic test on our KRISTI tracks and it seems to work well. This might be a carry-onboard item once it gets some basic service. And helpful to repair those Forest Service range fences after, you know, access issues.

You can find the exact one on Amazon for $59. Says "all purpose" so best to buy a pair for our Snow Trac "go bag"
for Mt Hood next year.

And to think I spent about the same $$ and personal effort to build my own as close to OEM as possible. Whatever works has always been my motto...
