Without going into too much detail due to confidentiality, one of the children I work with was admitted to the hospital this week. There are a whole bunch of things going on in his life which led me to take him into the hospital for his own safety. A whole series of events happened in this child's life within the past two years that has led to this. I'm now working with hospital staff as well as half the office where I work and a few higher positioned people at our head office to help this child get all the supports he needs once he is discharged from the hospital sometime next week. I just ask everyone to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. This could turn out to be a good thing in the long run as it seems to be bringing his family back together.I was not able to attend the funeral for my friend's parents earlier this week since I was working with this child trying to keep him alive. His problems are not of a physical nature. I've arranged lots of different supports for him once he is well enough to come out of the hospital.Our agency has had two seperate incidents in the past few years in which children have died. My quick actions this week at work prevented a third incident like this from happening.
