top speed lmc 1200

What is the top speed of a 1200 lmc normally? Just finished a 1989 1200 for our local sar team. 20.8mph via GPS at 3500 rpm. I have been in a few 1200's never at that speed. As you would expect it does not have much low end grunt. What are others experiences?
 
It all depends on the drop box gearing ( 2 options) There are also different ring and pinion options(3 if i remember correctly) then there is the high/low transfer case, but i have only seen that on the 1500. 20 mph is a nice speed!
 
Cool guess I did not know there was r&p options. So what mods have been done to the 300 to get enough power to pull a steep hill in first? Right now at 8300 feet she does not have enough poop to do it in low.
 
Hi/low transfer case, throttle body injection, turbo charge, super charge, one day i am going to try turbo diesel. Make sure you have a clean air filter and fresh plugs.

Mike you want to watch the torque applied to your oc-12 as I have torqued mine a bit in the past with my 380 turbo diesel I don't see any reason you cant massage a bit more power out of your 300 with a carb and cam upgrade . or efi
