In my st4 I pack tools for variator belt change.Fan belt change,& track tension.3/8 drive socket set, various wrenches.Spare parts include spark plugs, variator belt, fan belt, coil, cap & rotor, spare 80 pitch chain. Is this enough or am I packing way to much.I don't like being stranded & walking.Fortunatly where I live you only have to get on a hill for cell service. But I don't like to call a friend.(thats for who wants to be a millionare)

Thanks for input

Peter

peter i would carry stuff to change spark plugs and plugs a cap rotor and points i would also carry adjustent tools for belts both varriator and fan extra oil a can of wd 40 and a spare fan belt f you have a cgood varriator belt it will last a life time if its kept adjusted also an assortment of cressent wrenches these items have gotten me out of moste predictaments the only 2 times i had to tow her home was when the fly wheel fell off and when i fell into a hole and broke the front axle. other wise greese and adjustment and a good pre trip inspection watch your road wheels i undrestand the new style are sealed non servicable bearings and are also special not a timkin tapered roler type.

Thanks for the input.Don your list looks almost identical to mine. When my drive sprocket slines let go.The right track would drive no steering whatsoever.I still did not walk as I could back up & it would turn to the left, then I would idle forward.I made it to within 300" of my house.I wasn't very far from home to begin with.

Thanks for the input.I have a bag full of gear to stay alive & semi warm.I am more concered with spare parts & tools

with a snow trac you just need a few tools to keep her running in tiptop shape and it will almoste always get you home not a krusty where a survival kit is required for a trip around the back yard.

Now now....we all know you don't really need a tool kit in a Krusty. I'm sure they all can walk the 50 feet back to their vehicle after their Krusty breaks down.:whistling:
