But we are now in a PROXY WAR with US/NATO weapons being used against Russia. And Putin knows it is a proxy war. The US won't admit it is a proxy war. How many Ukrianians are we willing let get killed before we back away and let Putin have his way. Putin long ago tried to settle this. Biden/UK/France/NATO said no to a settlement. I don't understand why.
